Me

I am a thirteen-year-old from Missouri. I was born in Louisville, my mom being barely seventeen. Her mom was really mad at her for getting pregnant at the age she did. I don't remember much form back then, but I do remember all the yelling. All the crying and screaming and cussing.

As what usually happens in teen pregnancies, my mom and her boyfriend soon broke up, and my grandma kicked my mom out of the house. I was only five when my mom got kicked out, and still didn't understand that I didn't have a home anymore. My mom seemed to be depressed. She'd cry all the time. I didn't understand what was happening. She wouldn't tell me what was going on. One day, she went to the store with the very little remaining money we had. Sadly, when she came back, she was acting strange. She was happy.. But something was off.

She grabbed my hands and pushed me to the ground. I guess she thought it was going to be easier if I weren't in her life.. Like maybe it'd be easier to get by. Less money being spent on food, drinks..

She started hitting me. I didn't know what was happening, still. I felt sharp pains where she was hitting me. I was wondering what I'd done wrong. My own mom was now a bully to me. This was not the mom I'd known. I think the struggles just got to her..

A few years later, and now I'm with a family that would never treat me like my biological family did. A foster family. They loved me. Even though I didn't have technology, I was happy. I didn't need TV, computers, iPads.. I was no longer living on the streets. I was no longer being hit constantly. My new family treated me right.

Though, I soon found I wanted a pet. My foster mom and foster sister are both allergic to fur, however. So, I turned to virtual pet websites. I had to use my friend's computers and iPads, but thankfully, it worked. I may have limited time on this website, but I love it. It gives me the opportunity to have something I may never have in real life.
