oh wait, I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. I do have a scanner, it's a Brother like yours, but it's used moreso as a printer than anything else. Unfortunately I din't bring it with me to college since I had no use for it since I don't have any writing classes this semester (I haveen't printed a single paper so far).<br /> <br />

I kinda need to invest in a scanner, I believe :/<br /> <br /> However, I do believe hat I'm drawing better on the computer than on paper now, which is a surprise to me. But it easier for me to do skethcces on paper than on the computer.

Another tip could be to draw your art on paper first and then colour it digitally (which is how Hel's art is done)<br /> <br /> Here is a tutorial:<br /> 1. Scan your image.<br /> 2. Take your scanned image and open it up in GIMP (free art program)<br /> 3. Go to "COLORS" at the top and down to "COLOR TO ALPHA"<br /> <a href="http://i46.tinypic.com/w7bxqh.jpg">http://i46.tinypic.com/w7bxqh.jpg</a><br /> Click "OK" or whatever it asks.<br /> 4. Create a NEW LAYER (you should know how to do this if you're even attempting digital art so I'm not going to explain) that is white and put it UNDER your sketch layer.<br /> 5. Create a layer ABOVE THE WHITE LAYER and label it "Colours" or something.<br /> 6. Colour your image and stay in the lines<br /> 7. Xy, I want to thank you for a lot! My drawings have definitely improved in my eyes, and I definitely feel like things are becoming a lot more anatomically correct. Yea there were 16 layers xD<br /> <br /> And I actually had another version of the pic before this one but with a friends help I was able to fix the legs to make it more proportional :><br /> <br /> Id say I did rather well for my first try xD

well it's photoshop. I just use 3-5 pixel brush for both sketch and lineart e-e

And then using too small doesn't help either.<br /> <br /> I use GIMP and I'm comfortable with a .15 brush size, but I'm not sure if sketching is supposed to be bigger or smaller.
