i am getting very close to closing public editing for the wiki if people can't get along. The wiki is meant to be a group project, not something only for mods or newbie helpers to work on. However we also can't have people trying to make executive decisions on what they think an article should look like if an editing style is already established.<br /> <br /> i will be pm'ing Pom to get our info in one place. If other mods wish to be kept informed of what goes on with the wiki they will please PM Pom or myself, there is no need to be remotely rude to people who are trying to be helpful.<br /> <br /> Claiming topics does not work, it is true. Edits should be made only if there is something that needs to be added, or changed to meet style specifications. Please ask Pom or myself before making major additions.<br /> <br /> My apologies to everyone involved, i did keep the wiki better organized at one point. Hopefully we can all help to keep it so in the future.

Instead of this being clean, as you seem to want it to be, it's a bit messy. Perhaps they should turn off public editing for the wiki and if you want to help, contacting Pom would be better?<br /> <br />

I don't understand why someone is going through and turning all the backgrounds of dogs black, it looks gaudy against the background of the Wiki.<br /> If we want the focus to be on the markings/colours [which they would anyways, because it's the <strong>markings and colours section</strong>] then we should be cropping the images to surround just the dog.<br /> <br /> It looks so unorganized right now with three different types of images, no offense.

Hi rubeusbeaky! As far as I know, they decided that mutts won't be added into the game. But I got that information from people talking in chat so I don't know what the official decision is.<br /> <br /> As of right now, if people would like to help out with the wiki, please PM Pom (#41). She is the Head Newbie Helper and is in charge of overseeing updates made to the wiki. Please remember that if you message her asking to help, you must be willing to make a commitment and take time out of your day to assist her. On the Wiki under Breeding it says that a Mutt system will be implemented some time in 2011. Is that still true?

I don't really support you haivng people <i>claim</i> topics. It's obvious this going to be a problem. You can't claim a page and then get angry at those who try to edit that topic. The wiki is open for everyone to pitch in and help, not just strictly one person.

Alright. I normally keep the staff list, item list, and companions list up to date. I just recently took over the item list though. Someone else had been handling it. <br /> <br /> And as I said before the helpers are working on both the wiki and site pages. So those site pages are being handled and will be ok-ed by admins for placement on the site upon completion.

Hi ZJ! Thanks for posting here. If you will please read the original post, you will see that we are attempting to help with getting the Wiki up to date. Our goal is not to undermine those who have already contributed (and still are contributing) to the wiki site's information. To make this effort successful, we need the cooperation of both players and mods/admin alike. Otherwise, the burden to keep the Wiki up to date will once again be on the shoulders of a handful of people (who most certainly have lives outside of Alacrity!), and -- as the Wiki says -- since the site is updated with new and fun things weekly, that can be quite a challenge.<br /> <br /> I will be scribbling all mods on the site so that everyone knows what we are trying to do. I have gotten support from some mods, but I'm not sure if the rest are aware of our goals here. There does not seem to be one set opinion about this matter.<br /> <br /> I also respectfully ask that if someone has a serious issue with what is being done in this thread, to please PM the person(s) about the matter. As stated in the original post, the goal is to keep this topic as neat and orderly as possible, and of course, to be mindful of others and handle conflicts privately out of respect for all individuals involved.<br /> <br /> I would like to thank those who have contributed to this thread so far. Serious discussion began in A Chat on the 27th, and already, we have been able to edit and update several pages! Keep up the great work guys! Well it's possible to see the newest edits on the sidebar, perhaps next time you could look at that to see if someone is working on something already.

I'm not undermining anybodys hard work, I already stated that I didn't know that they added the black backgrounds in themselves, I already stated I believed it was the old default background.<br /> <br /> I'm finishing my Pits and then I'm bailing. I don't believe I'll be able to edit anything on the Wiki without "undermining the NH's hard work"

They have got it handled Clay, you don't have to worry about it. Perhaps you could add what you found was missing fast and efficiently rather than undermining their hard work.

I assumed the black background was the old default "Buy A Puppy" background :T<br /> <br /> I can do breeds extremely fast, so we can have mix n match backgrounds, have all the NH re-do the breeds to the black background, or I can do the breeds the way I'm doing it extremely fast and efficient.

They are supposed to have the black backgrounds so the emphasis is on the markings. What you have done is gone and redone what they have just spent a lot of time on. So you are welcome to add in what is missing but to redo what has been done is a time waster.

A lot of them have the old back backgrounds, no new mixed eye markings, some aren't even added yet [Pit Bulls], incorrect marking names, missing markings, unorganized tables/titles.<br /> <br /> It's a bit ridiculous to wait until I'm almost 5 breeds in and really cluttered and unorganized to have some breeds without backgrounds and some breeds with old backgrounds.
