The Emporium
As you walk down the crowded streets of New York City, you realize you need to do some shopping to look for that amazing item you saw in the store the other day. You aren't on the right street to go there though, and you know you can find it somewhere else cheaper. Since you're sort of bored, you decide to check out the shop on the side of the street.
You walk down the wide sidewalk looking into bland stores who try too hard. When you round the corner to the next street, you see nothing unusual as you start to browse again. But as you walk past an open-windowed store that has lots of younger kid's stuff, you look in and, to your surpize, a wooden dragon is staring back at you! Once you've gotten over the shock of it looking so real, you start back on your way, but a loud roar comes from the shop. Slightly curious, you jog back in time to see the dragon curl up and fall asleep.
Pushing through the door, you lean oer the dragon's case and study it for signs of wires that could be controlling it. But when you see none, you walk briskly over to a shop worker and say, "What's up with the dragon in the windo? Is it robotic?" The shop keeper laughs and walks over, open the case, and whistles. The dragon pops up and onto her hand. "Welcome to the Emporium. It's been awhile since anyone magical's come in" She goes on to explain that Popin, the dragon, has a bit of magic and can only be seen moving by magic people. Since you can see him move, you're magical.
Though you're a bit skeptical at first, you accept that magic is real when Popin hops onto your hand, flies around the room, and all the while looks like he's in the display window to passing customers. After asking how much he is and buying him, you rush home with your new beloved friend. Who knows? Maybe you'll go back and buy some more stuff from the Emporium!
