Breed clubs/Registered breeders
Started By
With all of the new members, new breeds, and just mass amounts of dogs out there i think this would be a nice way to give us a little more 'sub-community' stuff going as well as make breeding dog easier.

The idea would be like a guild/club type of thing for each of the dog breeds on here.

It would have a list of the members as well as any dogs they registered. And if possible a stud list

There would be a small fee (in money not bones) to join to prove your committed or at least interested. Then maybe you have to re-new your members ship every so months to keep the list updated

Then you could get a small banner badge type thing on your profile/kennel. (maybe where the perks go or in a line by the kennel name?) That would say something like "Registered Aussie Breeder" so people can tell what you breed easily

Then to register the dog they could have to be a certain age, TP, % trained to be accepted into the club. This could help with bad breeding ;)

Then maybe each club could have default competitions for are for that breed only every day?

And they could organize competitions, and other fun stuff like that C=

I for one am tired and searching through tons of dogs to find a good stud or even just anyone else who breeds my breed well. And when i do find them i never remember their id number xD This would help with that ^^

And like i said it would help newbies get some solid footing and help when they start trying to breed and trail.

plus i think it would be fun xD
though kind of a pain to code ^^''

I have seen a few registries around that are just forum lists but they either updated slowly or no one even knows about them. This would help it get a little more streamlined and better updated

I love the idea of having a breeds club for different breeds. I think this would be very beneficial for players who are looking for players who specialize in the breed we breed. <br /> <br /> I think that the fee to get a dog enrolled in the club is a great idea. I think for different amount of tps there should be a different price range but I think it should be a one time deal, I dont support the every month payment.<br /> <br /> In replace to the every month payment maybe have a spot where people in the club can donate money towards the club, and I think there should be club presidents that can run the club for say to create trials and budget the money, also to create banners and stuff for the club.

I support! Though perhaps not just one club per breed, but more like user-created clubs, that can set their own standards.

DF0, I love you for posting this. I'm sure everyone has seen my posts about a 4k corgi litter and needing customs as the foundations; this club idea would help tremendously. instead of hoping I find enough customs to breed to; I would have a list of customs I can use and just need to message the owner(s) about a litter :)

I was definitely thinking re-register between every 1-3 months. Because there no point to have it if it isn't up to date C=<br /> <br /> Oh the levels i'd be thinking of more going up then going down. As if it is your hobby, just register the ones you have, don't participate all that much. If it is your main breed you would be registering a lot, breeding a lot, participating a lot, so you could be 'promoted' for that. That with i think it would be more of a positive look than classifying your self as a 'backyard breeder' xD<br /> <br /> Right now i'm seeing to options for this.<br /> <br /> Either it is mostly coding into the site, and we have elections and such every month or so to keep it fair. Since there is no need to know how to run it and update it, it would be pretty easy to Lead.<br /> <br /> The second is having it off-site. It would be on something easy like webs, with it's own forum and pages and stuff. With this i'm thinking more of a permant person in charge of it, with smaller postions that people can be elected to. Since you would need to know the coding of the site, all the passwords, and how to update it, it would be very hard to be switching often. This way it is still running, but people do have a say in it C=<br /> <br /> Now for registering lines, i'm not to sure how you would go about doing that...Sounds like a great idea if you can think of some way to do it xD

I think this is a good idea, but I have a few side suggestions/thoughts.<br /> <br /> First, I agree that you should have to re-register to keep the list updated, but I think it should be more like monthly. :3 Also, what if you could join under different levels of commitment? For example, I would want to join the Papillon breed club, but I only breed Papillons as a side hobby. I would want to register as a "backyard breeder" level, or, even as a "buyer" or "enthusiast" instead of a breeder.<br /> <br /> Would we want one dedicated user to be the "leader" of the club? It's something to consider.<br /> <br /> Instead of coding this sort of thing, what if it was a sub forum? I've seen some around already, but like you said, they don't get much attention. I feel like part of that is because they don't have a visible, understandable section of the forum to belong to. I think a sub forum would fit nicely under the Breeding category. And like Al mentioned, you could start other clubs more specific than just "Corgi" club (she mentioned the blue-eyed Corgi club).<br /> <br /> It would be interesting if you could register "lines" with the club. It would need specific criteria, but that way you could easily find other dogs that don't intersect with your own line.<br /> <br /> Sorry for rambling. ^^;

Speaking from a "newbie's" point of view I think this is a wonderful idea and support wholly! You would think after being on other breeding sites I would know what to do here but I am still figuring it all out and a guild/support type club could offer great advice/breeding options to me and others like me. Thanks again,

Support.<br /> <br /> It would elp connect breeders and breeding partners and such. Love it! :D<br /> <br /> Each club could also have seperate forums for annoucements and when they are looking for breeding partners and such :))

Love the idea. Support.<br /> <br /> I find it frustrating to go through pages of dogs that don't suit my qualites and or TP is too low. This would certainly help me :)
