[Mafiya Sobaka]The Problem-Solver
The bronze-colored letters above the office building's door read "Burrows & Lee" in a font that was supposed to bring to mind solidarity and respect. It wasn't a huge firm, but it was busy.Unlike most law firms, Burrows & Lee was active after 5 pm. People entered and left the building with special keys, holding meetings at all manner of suspicious hours. Burrows & Lee, it was understood, handled a very specific type of client.
Petya sat at his desk, shuffling through files looking for some bit of evidence or another...he'd almost forgotten entirely what it was he was actually hoping to find. Over the past hour or so, his outlook had slowly become more and more overcast...and his expression more and more difficult to read. The file itself was filled with all kinds of reasons he should be incredibly wary of taking this case at all...the evidence against his client - Potential client, he reminded himself - was appalling.
And that's to say nothing of the crime... his mental voice piped up, causing him to close his eyes momentarily to avoid the flash of what most people would consider guilt. For Petya (or Peter Thompson if you went by the lettering on his door), it was just an occupational hazard.
Setting the file aside for now, he pushed it away, leaning back in his chair to consider his options for "lunch." It was nearly 4 in the afternoon, but you know...who has time to actually eat lunch?
