Shadow Valley [[Human/Supernatural RP]]

Yes, Crevan is starting an RP! Please read the Rules before continuing to read the plot to make sure you feel you are up to following how I like to role play before you emerge yourself into reading!

This Rp will not be starting until Sunday, August 28th. I will be gone all of next week and therefore would like to postpone this actually starting until I return. However, character forms and examples may be done now so we can get a prompt start on the 28th.

Rules & Guidelines
1. All posts MUST be of significant length; if you are talking with someone else's character then it's fine to make shorter posts, however.
2. I RP in a prose style. I do not Rp like this:
Bob: *dashes around*
Fred: *trips Bob* Sorry bob!
Any posting made like that is not allowed - I do not believe that helps anyone become a better writer of prose, which is what I intend to write.
3. All Posting MUST follow alacrity's rules - this means no vulgar language or content or anything that does not follow the rules here on Alacrity.
4. Please use proper spelling and grammar - a few mistakes are fine, they happen and I don't expect everyone to be perfect, you'll see me making mistakes too.
5. Make sure your characters are believable and true. What does this mean? Your character cannot be perfect, nor can they predict the future (unless they have a certain power like that but it better be limited or carry a price), nor can they read minds (again, unless its a power of theirs and its limited or comes with a price). This means they cannot know what another player's character is thinking, and they cannot know things that may have been foreshadowed or hinted at. And, of course, they cannot be invincible to everything.
6. You must PM me a 500 page example of your writing to be considered for joining this RP. Don't worry about this too much, as long as you include description and a bit of dialogue and things look tidy and well done, you will easily be included in this RP :D

Plot Line

Shadow Valley is a secluded region, closed off from society in an attempt to keep testing as contained as possible. This particular region, known as Shadow Valley, is a testing sight to see if humans and the supernatural can truly live together in harmony. Yes - all people living there know of supernatural beings, and all supernatural being are safe, to an extent.

Shadow Valley has a third "species" - the Guardians. Guardians are humans or supernatural creatures who are participating in the program to ensure all subjects remain safe. They control any issues when the start occurring - they take out the unruly and make sure well defined rules stay intact. A Guardians duty is not to be social - their duty is merely to study the effects of supernatural creatures living openly in a human environment. All Guardians have been tested for the position and are at the top of the law in Shadow Valley - anyone who wishes to defy them will face consequences.

Shadow Valley, due to the secrecy of supernatural creatures in the rest of the world, has no road out. There is nowhere for anyone to go, and now that they are involved in the experiment there is no escape for them. The only creatures who can get in and out are the Guardians and the Supernatural - all humans are contained either for life or until the testing has concluded. However, leaving Shadow Valley is no easy feat. If one wishes to escape they not only have to get past Guardians watching over the borders of Shadow Valley, but they also must travel hundreds of miles by foot. In ease, no one living there has contact with the outside world.

Aside from there being an openness about supernatural creatures, this town operates much the same as any normal town. There are houses and apartments, jobs and places to hang out, etc.

Can the people and supernatural creatures of Shadow Valley prove the secret can be let out? Or will they only prove that what was shrouded in mystery is best left that way?

Character Guidelines & Rules

For now I will only allow SEVEN of each species to exist in this RP. That means it's a first come first serve for whoever wants either Guardians, People or Supernaturals.

Everyone is allowed TWO characters for now. If this RP grows enough and more are necessary, then I will allow more later on.

Character Form

Name:
Age:
Species:
Guardian (Y/N):
Special Abilities(Only ONE allowed):
Description:
Clothing Preference(this can help you avoid having to describe clothes all the time):
Personality:
Likes:
Dislikes:
History:

You can be as descriptive and informative as you like with the character form; personally I think less is more since a character should be more built up in the RPing process.

Please submit character forms here and please send the 500 word(ish) example writing to me privately.

Remember you have about TWO WEEKS to get a character form and sample sent in before this RP actually starts :)

Skylar just looked around the cafe, taking note of the people in there. She stopped seeing the human girl and Jack talking. Sure mostly no one knew her but she made it a point to know the others. Their conversation she couldn't hear but she still didn't like it, for the girl's safety. Skylar started to debate walking over there just to ruin his game or not.
Envy nodded. "I'm alright, thank you for worr about me. But did you happen to hear someone laugh a bit before you spoke? There is someone out here."<br /> <br /> Envy turned his head in different directions, trying to find the source of where the sound came from. "I don't like spies, so you better not be trying to hide from me." He crossed his arms, and his tail bristled behind him. He frowned, something which was unusual to be seen. And he waited for a few seconds, and some more, and some more, and still couldn't pick up any more sounds. "well, I guess that is it then. Maybe it dropped dead. Well, how was your day, young sir?"
"Just flirting. I'm Jack by the way. So then, what brings you to the <i>projects</i> then? You don't look like a freak, in fact you look like a normal human." Jack said. It was hard to not pull one of his normal charming smiles, but he managed. Had he done so the game would be up in moments. In fact he would have to play this one rather carefully sense she was aware there were a lot of non-humans and therefore more likely to notice his less than human characteristics.<br /> <br /> --------<br /> <br /> "Are you alright?" Xian asked the youth that had fallen. He wasn't overly concerned about the boy, anyone fool enough to be careless on the roof deserved to slip up in his book. Still, he had to at least show a small bit of concern. <br /> <br /> His lips formed a small frown at catching the mocking voice. It wasn't hard to figure out who it was, after all any of the creatures that had been forced here had extensive paper work. Even though he was considered more of a minor annoyance, it was still something Xian didn't particularly care to involve himself in.
Skylar just sighed heading out into the night. She was almost home when she felt it just about to rain, ducking into the cafe to avoid a scene in the streets.<br /> <br /> Walking over to an empty table she mumbled to herself, "Should of just stayed at the book store." She just ordered a tea and sat down to wait out the rain that had started to fall.
Reina looked up at her unexpected guest. While she wanted to get excited that he was approaching her and he was handsome, she decided not to let herself get too deeply into that idea. After all, perhaps he was only approaching her for other reasons. She didn't know. She had to question <i> what is he?</i><br /> <br /> Though, she didn't ask it out loud. Not yet, anyway.<br /> <br /> "Getting a drink," she said, tapping her mug. "You want a drink? Or are you just flirting with people?" She grinned.<br /> <br /> -------------------------<br /> <br /> Aiden noticed something bounding along the top of roofs and watched it in his boredom. When it fell, though, he couldn't help but to laugh. <br /> <br /> "Balance much?" He asked. He was across the street from where he had fallen, but considering how late it was it was rather quiet out and didn't require an immense amount of work on his part to make himself heard.
Envy walked on the roofs of some small stores, his feet barely making a sound on the shingles below. He wasn't precisely looking for anything, but it was good to take a good late night stroll now and then. And, should the occassion arise, he could always jump down and question any troublemakers. He smiled at the idea of finding some humans, and started to skip along. At one point, a loose shingle tripped him and he landed face first on the roof of the cafe. "Ow."<br /> <br /> He sat up and brushed off his tail. "I hope no one saw that, or heard it."
Jack's eyes tracked her as soon as she walked into the cafe. He stood up and leisurely made his way over to sit at her table after a bit. She looked like she was human, and therefore was interesting to him. He hated what he was forced to survive off of, but here an opportunity had presented itself. It was one he fully intend to look into exploiting, even if it might be bending the rules slightly. <i>If no one catches you, it's not against the rules.</i><br /> <br /> "So then, what is a pretty lady like yourself doing out alone after dark?" He asked in a smooth voice.<br /> <br /> ------------------------<br /> <br /> Xian walked down the near empty street. On the surface he simply appeared to be out for an evening stroll. In truth, however, he was patrolling for any misbehavior. The time when most humans retreated to their homes and the supernatural came out was always tense. While some did want this project to work, there were many who were here against their will, and would take any excuse to cause trouble.<br /> <br /> Though, he didn't mind dealing with any issues that might arise, he did hope that there would be no need. After all, the Guardians' identities were unknown to everyone so that they might be more effective, and Xian wanted to keep that for as long as possible.
Skylar sighed looking out across the small book store she worked in. Really she owned this small store for something to occupy her time. She could tell that it would rain soon and just hoped that she didn't have to walk out in it. Looking out the glass she began to close up the shop, well knowing that no one else would come into it tonight. She didn't hate the night, she actually loved to swim with the moonlight reflecting in the water.
It was late in the evening when Reina finally realized she shouldn't sit outside anymore. While it was supposedly safe to do so she didn't have the feeling of security she did when she was inside, around other people or whatever they were. At least indoors there were Guardians, though. And at least there were lights and she could analyze the situation better. For whatever reason, though, once it started to get dark out she was afraid.<br /> <br /> She kept near her apartment so she wouldn't have far to walk in the dark. Despite the fact that Guardians would happily escort she was too prideful to ask of such services. <br /> <br /> She found herself in her favorite Cafe. She stopped there every night, more just to socialize than anything, but she readily ordered a hot chocolate and sat down at a table in the corner - the best seat in the house as far as she was concerned. It gave a perfect view of the entire place. She absently pulled a book out of her bag and flopped it down in front of her on the table, though her eyes were scanning the cafe, watching people and creatures come and go, mingle and sit silently. <br /> <br /> ------------------------<br /> <br /> Aiden perched himself on a fence surrounding a store that was already closed for the night. As equal as things were supposed to be people went home before it got dark out - all the businesses, aside from various food places, seemed to close at sunset. It was annoying for him since he enjoyed night life more. Of course, so did every other creature of his type and other types, it seemed anyway. They grew up knowing the night life, trying to avoid contact with humans as much as possible. Now that he was thrown into this place, though, he realized humans changed their ways and feared contact. <br /> <br /> "So much for proving we can coexist," he muttered under his breath. While they were at not getting along, he figured he could wait for an unsuspecting human to pounce on. One of his favorite games was to shift and wait for humans to walk by. He knew their scent well, they smelled of their own unique flavor. They were all so innocent and fragile and easily frightened. It was hilarious to him.<br /> <br /> Of course he scanned the area. It was rather remote so Guardians weren't hovering around it. He hated the Guardians, especially those of his own species. Who were they to look for coexistence? Did they really believe it was possible? The second news came of supernatural creatures humans would surely kill them all. He was certain of that. Even if this small community had a chance, the real world didn't. He figured he'd try his best to make sure no one would think such coexistence was possible, that way they wouldn't be doomed to be destroyed later.
/totally didn't post when I said I would/ xD<br /> <br /> I'll try to get one in today D: if not, tomorrow for sure for real! (I have tomorrow off)
