I need advice desperately
Okay. I try to stay away from drama as much as possible, but ever since I moved out of my mom's house, my own mother has been trying to start fights between my brother, me and his new wife. She has also been trying to control our lives within our own home. Yes, I live with my brother and my sister inlaw but only because she was trying to control me in every aspect. I talked to her for a while but then she started talking about me behind my back so I broke contact. Just recently she tried cornering my sister and I in our own home. I have never been more terrified in my life, and even worse, she did this while my brother is on deployment. I'm afraid that she won't stop and I am really terrified of confrontations. What do you suggest we do? I'm afraid to leave our apartment unless I take the back streets to go anywhere. Any suggestions?

I agree with Ravette. Since you're in the 18+ board I'm going to assume you're 18 so therefore you're no longer considered a minor and in most cases, it's legally acceptable to be independent from your parents, so I'd assume that it'd be easier for you to file a restraining order or communicate with the police.

what kind of fights is she initiating? Verbal? Physical? If she is actually attempting to get into your house, call the cops. If she can't get in, she'll have to leave eventually.

Don't be afraid to fight back against her, if she's threatening you that much.

Call the cops if she comes over to your property and doesn't leave? File a restraining order? Continue no contact?
