new fish oil change
Started By
i think they should ether
1 put the fish oil back like it was now it's kinda not worth it
2 change it so that it takes dog's health since in real life too much can make your dog sick
and or
3 lower the price now to the price of regular food because it's again not worth 36k for 100 if you are limited to how many you can use

decided maby add 4th

4 how about a little higher limit?

At 17.50 per use, it is still a fair price, compared to some of the other foods. However:

I do not agree with the limitation of 3 uses per day. That makes it a nearly useless item.

Unfortunately, with all of the changes, such as taking magical rubber balls out of the cash boutique, trialing only 2 dogs, etc, the game has become much harder, and hence, a lot less fun.

A better change would have been to limit the number of bottles purchased per day.

Sure, that would have made the price in user shops go up, but that happens with *every* valuable item on the site.

I would definitely like it if it rotated out. As it is currently, it's worthless. If it's planning on staying the same, I'd definitely be getting my kennel slots back and getting a refund on the ton I bought.

Training is going to be so tedious now :(

i will admit i only trial my tp capped dogs but it's because i have almost 100 dogs and takes hours and hours to trial them all and i just don't have that kinda time

i think the fish oil was best for training because i like to train dogs not just high tp but i was in the middle of helping someone train there when the fish oils up date came out

08-27-2012 at 9:26 PM
You don't really need capped dogs for trialling :/ I have plenty of customs who win and low TP dogs that've won places on their trials. The fish oil helped get them in more trials and made them useful. Even if an Odie doesn't win half of it's trials, it still makes money with Fish Oil to fill up the energy again. The capped dogs eventually trialled out of the level and then only the low TP dogs were left to have their chance in the lime light.

fish oil was affordable but with the fish oils out haven't you noticed more people are willing to train capped dogs? would be a lot easier for player's to get them maxed but that makes competition for the big players who have 90% of the maxed tp capped dogs and there lowering there profit

I know, I did love the extra trialing boost, but at the same time, I felt bad because I know not everyone has fish oil or capped dogs. :|

i'm in support for rotation in exchange for the limit being removed

and aqua i loved the ability to trial more since that's the only way to make money here and you can't enter the 5 dogs per trial anymore was kinda nice

I agree with a lot of Molly's ideas; I loved the idea, but it was always bothering me that I could basically trial all I wanted- although my first thought was a limit of how many trials you could enter if you had used fish oil on the dog, but I could see how cutting it out completely could help as well.

I think the fish oil was finally going in the direction people wanted, making ala a bit easier with the way capped dogs have been going, making it more accessible to move forward in the game, but now that we've realized it's limitless stature, it's suddenly been cut back to nearly nothing. :| If we're worried about the amount of it going around and making working practically worthless, then don't stock it 24/7. I was actually surprised I never saw it run out, and up the price a bit.

I guess I don't see why that would require doubling the revitalizer price for it, seeing as it was 1/200th of it before there was any limit, and now that there is a limit on it, getting that removed and going back to the way it was requires a 400x price increase? Just seems silly to me- yes, I can see putting some kind of increase on it, even 100x increase, but 400? I dunno, just seems odd to me.

I do support the rotation of it in Gnasher! 1000% over if we can get the unlimited uses back

Ev, all of your suggestions (save for the one about not letting dogs trial on the same day as being fed Fish Oil) are ones that I personally posed to the admin team. I think that ALL are great solutions! Limiting the number of feeds per day was, honestly, the best and most realistic solution that we came up with. Although, I do believe that a combination of other options is completely feasible.

I am, in lieu of making this fix, entirely willing to refund kennel slot purchases made to augment the old Fish Oil effect. If you want this refund, please submit an issue to the Mod Hub and we will take care of it :)

oh i was buying bones*notes add* was about to try to get at least 100 more kennel spots.... but now... why? not really worth it if i can't use all the training sessions from it

08-27-2012 at 8:56 PM
Yeah, I personally don't see the point in it anymore myself. It was a really nice feature, made people buy a lot more kennel slots too that might not be getting used now. Honestly this was the most exciting thing on ala for a long time in my opinion xD And I'm glad I hesitated on spending 30 bones on more slots like I was thinking of doing soon.

For one, in order to prevent trialing out of it it could be made that dogs don't get to trial on the days they eat it. (though honestly, rushing a dog through trialing doesn't really do much considering dogs trialing careers end at Gromit in most cases)

Another idea: don't make it a permanently stocked item; change it so it's got limited supply. True people could make money off it if they are lucky enough to nab it, but, it would prevent people from using it tons and tons.

OR limit it so each person can only buy 3 bottles a day or something. It would at least make for a nice bonus that would make use of kennel slots, and still make fish oil valuable and nice, without allowing a whole capped dog to be trained in a few days. Up the price just a bit (maybe 5k a bottle) True it would still be way nicer than a rejuvenator, but... I think it would be nice for a little change and having a really nice added daily bonus. Maybe that's just me, though. A lot of people were really enjoying this and very excited for it and now it's not a special item at all the way I see it. I was excited to get online and train my dogs again, now training is once again tedious.

Of course these are all just opinions :) and sorry for the report xD

08-27-2012 at 8:54 PM
True :| I haven't been able to get anywhere on trials until Fish Oil.
And after that point, Dark, I'll also agree Fish Oil would then be unfair at 140k. The way it was before, everyone could easily afford it and train their dogs or trial more. Now it's really lost all value.

08-27-2012 at 8:46 PM
oh it also really helps since the trial "fix"

08-27-2012 at 8:45 PM
i'm all for helping new players be it from giving them money and helping them max there dogs or even giving them item's but not all of them get hundreds of thousands of ala cash as donations and no one will buy there dogs if they don't max before breeding and hardly anyone will breed with them if there dog isn't maxed the oil was pretty cheap for what it dose and helps even them out

There's still some players out there who lend items for free. I think. I do. I don't have a werewolf though xD

08-27-2012 at 8:37 PM
what about people who can't afford the werewolf? newer players that don't have all the fancy item's and money to get things for training

08-27-2012 at 8:35 PM
I guess that'd be fair. That's approximately 160TP with a scholar collar, 320 TP with a trainer perk and collar. 640 with a Savage werewolf. ~does too much math~

08-27-2012 at 8:33 PM
then why not lower the price since you limited it....

08-27-2012 at 8:30 PM
I would like to note that if we were to simply increase the price, the price would have to DOUBLE the current cost of the Revitalizer. Fish Oil contains 2x energy giving qualities that the Revitalizer has and, sans negative hunger impact, is far more powerful.

We're talking $140,000 PER bottle of Fish Oil.
