Welcome to Alacrity, a challenging agility sim! Although parts of it may seem confusing at first, you'll quickly come to know and easily navigate around the site, raising your champion dogs.

If you've already gotten basically familiar with the site layout — congrats! That's the first step. In our little tour, we’ll be flying all around the universe of Alacrity.

Let’s Talk Dogs

Doubtless, dogs are the first thing that comes to mind when you're playing — they’re the main focus of the game. Dogs on Alacrity mirror real life: they have weight, hunger, mood, and other stats that must be properly balanced for their well-being.

Head to Earthly Goods → Foundation Auctions. There, one random breed of five (5) puppies appears in auction for six (6) hours. These dogs are foundation dogs — they have no parents and no lineage on Alacrity. They’re brand new lines.

Or, try buying a dog from another player via Earthly Goods → Auctions → Dog Auctions instead.

Time to swoop over to your dog’s page and take a look at their stats. Let’s familiarize ourselves with these so we know how to care for your dog properly.

Your puppy’s basic stats are located right under their picture. Puppies from the breeder start at 3 months old.

Wait! Has it been a couple of days and you’re wondering why your dog hasn’t aged? No problem — dogs on Alacrity only age when you log in. They can only get sick or experience random events while you're logged in as well.

Check your dog’s health and energy — they should both be at decent levels. Since you just bought your pup, it’s a good idea to get them vaccinated as soon as possible. You can do this at the bottom of the page under Actions.

While you’re there, you’ll also see options to Spay/Neuter or Put Down your dog. Spaying or neutering makes the dog ineligible for breeding. Putting a dog to sleep is irreversible — choose carefully!

Alright, let’s scroll back to the top of the page and continue making our way down.

See the option to the left of "Name"? That’s your dog’s tag. It’s basically a brand — you can’t take it off, but by searching for your brand, you’ll find all dogs tagged with it.

You can set your dog tag through your profile page. Just a heads up: this is irreversible. Once you've set your tag, head back to your dog’s page and tag them using the available option.

Once we scroll past Physical Characteristics (ooh, ahh, look at those markings!), we reach Stats. I bet your dog is hungry — check their hunger stat.

Need some kibble? Let’s fly over to Earthly Goods → Store → Gnashers. Choose some food for your dog; the more expensive it is, the more likely it is to boost your dog’s stats and health. You can feed your dog directly from your inventory.

Back to your dog’s page — those Stats will change over time. Keep an eye on their weight. An out-of-shape dog can’t fly through an agility course very well! Be careful not to overfeed them with food and treats.

Skills and Training

Onwards, Alacrity-ites — to Skill! This will likely be completely blank at first. No, your dog isn’t a broken inbred clone — they just haven’t started training yet.

You’ll see Basic Training listed at 0.00%. Click that 0% to begin training. Your dog must complete basic training before they can enter their first agility trial, called Dogbert.

After finishing basic training (which takes a couple of days), you’ll be able to begin specialized training in other skill areas.

We’ve successfully navigated the dog page — hooray! If you're looking for something else to do with your dog, you can always go and pamper them with goodies from the store.

At the different stores, you can buy grooming supplies, toys, and other entertaining items — such as dead toads (a guaranteed doggy hit!).

While exploring the wonderful little town of Alacrity in search of frogs... oops — your dog gets injured! Not to worry. Click the link to take them to the vet as soon as possible so they can start healing. Your pup will be out of commission for a few days in terms of training and showing, but they’ll be back to their zoomie self in no time.
