Hhaha no I know that, Kael :P I was just explaining why someone [like myself] might bid on the dog.

There's absolutely no problem with it, Gamzee :) It's an auction! You don't need to justify your reason for wanting that awesome dog!

I don't see the problem in buying the dog for the items. I don't see it any different than bidding on auctions for the items.

XD I remember seeing that dog before it was up for auction. Congrats to the person who wins him!

If i were to bi and win Him i wouldnt do it for the items but the pure cuteness i already planned on giving half of all the items to the newbie raffles and a really close friend since i only want the dog

Ooh! that makes perfect sense! Crap items are expensive, sorry for my confusion.

"Wow...that dog has a lot of mess on it. Think ppl would buy it for that much if it didnt have all that crap on it?" - Temp, I wouldn't call those items, 'crap'. Mess either. A lot of those items on the dog are really expensive but I'd say even if the dog didn't have the items, it'd still go for a lot since it's ID(#-777). To some, it's a rare dog.

I never said someone musn't bid on it. I said I think it's bad that there IS such an auction. Of course I would bid on it too if I would have the money, but the possibility to bid on something like this is not good in my opinion.
And also I said I think it's cool to have a dog with that ID and I said nobody would bid THAT HIGH on this dog without the stuff on it.
I know there are people who would like to buy it because of the ID, but the auction would never be that high.

It actually has 18 Scholar Collars XD I want one XD lol
by Luna Moon (R.I.P Luna <3) #11955

No, Kaine, it's not impossible that someone would buy this dog for millions just because of the dog itself. I'd bid lots on the dog even if it had no items on it; I'd even be happier that way, since then I'd have no competition with the people bidding on it for the items. You're free to believe whatever you want, but it's not exactly fair and enjoyable how you're claiming -everyone- to be as greedy as you think. Nevertheless, as other people are saying as well, if you have the money you're free to do whatever you want with it, you can bid if you want to without having to explain anyone why you're doing so. If you don't have the money.. then you just don't bid, not like it would affect your Ala life in any way.
by Parasect #47
Posted on 08-9-2011 at 4:58 AM

I mean.. would it make you feel better if I said that in the case I do win the auction, I'd sell the items? That way I'd really be sharing what I got with the userbase. :S
by -------- #6375
Posted on 08-9-2011 at 3:43 AM

I'm not bidding on this dog for the ID#, Kaine. I think that the fact that I'm good at selling/earning money/saving should give me the right to spend my $$ on anything I want? I don't go around telling others what they can or can't spend their money on.. or that they can't save up for any items because I disagree with it.

P.S this is Gamzee's side account, I'm just on here doin stuff and decided to post.

Ah good to know Kael :) Thanks for responding.

I'm trying to figure out why one person potentially making a lot of money off of this dog is a big deal. If they do, great. if they keep the dog as is, great. People can do all kinds of things to make it off well in this game, and if this happens to be one rare/random way, then oh well? Sure, I certainly can't afford it (I don't particularly care to have it either), and I'm sure many others can't but that doesn't mean it's unfair. I couldn't afford things like scholar collars, MFBs, etc until I had played for a while. It took time and effort for me to get where I'm at. If the people bidding on this dog earned/bought the money they have, it's their right to do as they will with it. All the better if they profit :) There is certainly more than this one way to do good financially on this game.

I wish the best to whoever ends up with the pup, whether it's to sell the things on it, or keep it as a novelty :) If it is kept as a novelty, someone should give it a locket!

XD Kaine, Robyn did not put all of those items on the dog. I did. By accident. This was a true glitchy mistake. Also, to whoever asked, yes, this was dog #0 a few days ago... it was changed to -777 once we discovered that dog 0 was messing up the lineages, hehe.
by Kaelizilla #36
Posted on 08-8-2011 at 7:46 PM

There are about 20 scholar collars on this and many CA's and rares. Of course it will make this person rich/bone-rich. A scholar collar can be sold in "good times" for 40 bones. 20x40 is 800 and this x30000$ (acutal average price of a bone) is making 24.000.000$.
So it is defnitly making this person rich just with the collars! And I didn't calculate with all the other stuff on it!
Of course I think it would be cool to have a negative ID-dog, but it's impossible that someone will buy it for several million $ just because of this. Even if that person is telling it, I won't believe it.
by TwistedDreams #10714
Posted on 08-8-2011 at 7:07 PM

Kaine, I'd bid on this dog because of the dog itself, not because of the items on it; you shouldn't be assuming -everyone- would be bidding on it only because of all the stuff. I'd fancy a bug dog with a negative ID, and I'm sure others would as well, since people are already bidding millions on this thing. It can't be for profit, sure the money gotten from all those items would make the dog itself cheaper in the end, but it won't be making 'one single rich person even more rich'. No need to be so negative about this, there really are honest novelty hunters amongst us Alacrites. c:

didn't this dog used to have an ID of 0? Doesn't matter, but just curious :) Happy bidding everyone!

Kaine, people like to Sniper Auction as in wait for the last minute and bid. =] It saves money AND is easier. Though, you have to be careful of all the other snipers, too. ;D

There's nothing bad about this funny dog <3

I think an admin would know Kaine. The ID is pretty cool!
by Champion (Huskies and Aussies!) #5870
Posted on 08-8-2011 at 6:39 PM

I don't think anybody's bidding on it because of the ID or something. Everyone thinking that is just naive! Of course it's because of the items. If not; why would Robyn put all of them on it? I still think (even if I love the mods and admins here) this is one very bad thing.

Holy Dog you guys don't know how much I want to have more than 2000000 right now O.o
by bamby #11282
Posted on 08-8-2011 at 6:34 PM

Kaine, this isn't really about the sheer amount of stuff on the dog, although that is pretty fun. This is really about the novelty of owning such a fun glitch... the dog has a negative ID number and is the one dog solely responsible for messing up the lineages of all dogs on Alacrity a few days ago. Personally, I'd probably keep all the items on the dog if I were to win it :D Additionally, however much this pup ultimately sells for is the amount of money that will be retired from game play. Ultimately, this means a stronger economy for Alacrity. Good luck to all of you bidders!

Isn't it a little unfair to make one single rich person even more rich with this?
Wouldn't it be better to sell many small amounts of rare equipped dogs so that the usual users can buy some too? The one user getting this one will be definitly the richest one withing days after getting this dog, even if he/she's paying a lot for it.
I don't think that's a good thing, but I guess you know what you are doing?
