I have something to say~ I've just noticed that referral prizes.. like um Ex: "5 random items in store for first 30 days (no rares!)" but the cash boutique DOES count as a store in the main stores right? 8I I've been given rares from the cash boutique for referral prizes, i think the coding needs to be checked 8) and where should I send the rare prizes off to?

I have spoken with Robyn, and she has agreed to lowering the price of the Scholar Collar. That will be done now.<br /> <br />

Just as everyone else has said the prices are outrageous and i dont think many people will be using the cash shop. I would like to see a magical water bowl though.

From what Robyn said in chat yesterday, I believe the Cash Boutique prices for rare items will be lowered to the 25k per bone equivalent that had been discussed in the mini update. I don't know if they will still be available for bones, perhaps bones in the monthly shop and cash in the boutique? That is speculation though.

Rhapsody... I believe the Monthly Shop prices are going to skyrocket as well. Please don't take this as fact though because I don't know for sure. Can any admin clarify this? Am I correct?

If you think the prices in the Cash Shop are too high, go to the Monthly Shop. They are much lower there. Or they were when I checked just now.<br /> <br /> But yeah, if the Cash Shop is there to help the newcomers, it's a fail. I've been here for over a year & have nowhere near the money to get another SC.

I think that lowering the prices temporarily will encourage spending. Remember the summer sale? I spent 400K that day alone!! I know others spent a lot more than me. Also, if the prices in STORES [not user shops] are lowered, that will increase people in spending "one-time" $$. Once they spend it, it's gone, it's no longer in circulation [I guess... I dunno what happens with the $$ from Ala-shops].

I agree with Gamzee in every single point. I was never one of the rich guys but even my 200k were hard to earn and it's just amazingly disappointing that they are not even worth half a SC now! This is crazy! Before I could have bought like nearly 4 timestops and now not even one! <br /> I absolutely hate this change, sorry to say.

<i>"I think some people need to remember that the addition of this shop is to help Alacrity, not cripple it."</i><br>People keep saying this but nobody has addressed the issues other users and I have brought up. There has been no in-depth explanation as to <b>why</b> the admins believe this will help the Alaconomy [made up a word there B) ]<br><br><i>"And if something is too expensive for you in the Cash Boutique, then just keep an eye out for people selling items for cheaper in their user shops."<i><br>They won't be cheap. I know that this major price hike in Monthly Shop items will only make me increase the price. For example, say an item used to be sold for 5 bones in the Monthly Shop, I would sell it for 2-3 bones. Now the price has sky-rocketed and that previously 5-bone item is now 10 bones. I will not be selling that item for 2-3 bones any longer, I will move it up to ~5-6 bones.<br><br><i>"As for Scholar Collars, newbies have been borrowing SCs since they came out, so even if they can't afford to buy one, this community has always been helpful to its newcomers and I wouldn't expect that to change."</i><br>Now that Scholar Collars are even harder to obtain, I see an increase in the price of buying and renting collars.<br><br><i>"Plus, no sim should function in such a way that you can completely master the game the first day you arrive."</i><br>Ala isn't like that and never has been [the entire time I've been on here at least]. I got where I am today by selling things, so this increase in $$ is not making the game fairly challenging, it's making it 10x more challenging for those who do not have a lot of $$.<br><br><i>"As people become more experienced in how to make money, they can save up to afford the rare items."</i><br>Speaking from experience, raising 1 mil takes a lot of work and time. I can't see new players spending that much time to save up for a Scholar Collar. <br><br>I apologize if this is coming off as debate-material, it was not intended to be as such.

I think this is an awesome idea, sadly I don't have that kind of money. The only thing I would have asked was to be given some warning. I was doing some last minute trialing to get the last of the money I needed for an SC, and I was sending money from my side when this update came :/ I think it will work, or I hope it will work, but it doesn't for me.

What?! So we can't buy SCs for 10 bones aymore?! I was planning on getting one of my OWN for that price when I got the money to donate! I can't pay $100000 for that! >:U And the ones in user shops will be over 30 bones each! >:'( And then it will cost like, 25k to rent one per TS...

V That has nothing to do with this update. :/<br /> Regardless of whether or not this happened the right thing to do still would've been to give it back. I fail to see how that is at all relevant to the issue at hand.

this upsets me, because I bought a dog with a scholar collar on it and could have made alot of money renting it out while I kept my other, but I was made to give it back....... >8{/

So us rich kiddies can now charge a fortune to rent out our scholar collars to newer players? Brilliant idea!<br /> It seems like those of us who HAVE the money to blow in that shop are more keen on hoarding our money. xD But whatevah. I don't agree with it, I won't be buying from it. -shrug-

I think some people need to remember that the addition of this shop is to help Alacrity, not cripple it. Not to mention, the other main shops' prices have not been changed, and the art team provides new content to the main shops every single month. Even if a person never contributes a single dime to Alacrity, they still have access to tons of items they can easily afford. And if something is too expensive for you in the Cash Boutique, then just keep an eye out for people selling items for cheaper in their user shops. As for Scholar Collars, newbies have been borrowing SCs since they came out, so even if they can't afford to buy one, this community has always been helpful to its newcomers and I wouldn't expect that to change. Plus, no sim should function in such a way that you can completely master the game the first day you arrive. As people become more experienced in how to make money, they can save up to afford the rare items. So, no one is being forced to use the new shop. It won't be the end of Alacrity, and we're definitely nothing like Foopets. We don't charge anyone to create an account, and as stated before, non-donating members still have access to tons of affordable items. Just try not to panic over the change, and stick around and see how things go. I guarantee you if these changes actually start to pose a real threat rather than be the helping aids they're meant to be for the economy, Robyn would change them in a heartbeat. As it is, try to have a little trust, just hang in there, and see what happens. :}

I agree with Komm and Shadow. This is absolutly rediculous. Can't you at least ASK all of Alacrity? I was only 20k away, and NOW that it's 1mil... that's flat out rediculous. Sorry Ala, but I can just see you crash-and-burnin' if this isn't fixed.

I can see where this is going. Prices will start hiking up, new users joining will decline, and Ala will become just like Foopets. I bought a Scholar Collar for 100k, and I think 1 million for collars now is absolutely ridiculous. I will not be spending my money in the new shop as there isn't even anything in there that wasn't in the monthly shop a while ago for a fraction of the price. There should have been a poll about this, or a post asking for suggestions on new ways to stimulate the economy. Please change it back, every new thing you add to Ala is making it harder to play and enjoy. 8P

Since when were scholar collars worth a million? I thought they'd go up to 225k, still much more doable for the players just starting out if they save, save, save. 1 mil!? Just. I'm happy I already have my two scholar collars but good luck to the new trainers out there hoping to get one! I can't see the players who have just started out, who actually need them, making that much money from trialing. :| Not unless they get their hands on a capped dog and somehow train it before it hits the new age cap. You'd all be better off getting a trainer perk. Oh wait! Bones are up to 40k-60k now.

Wont be doing much there. Took away half my trail winnings for dogs...Can't see spending that kind of money...No way newbies will be able to afford a scholar collar now and be able to train and max their trail dogs in a timely manner. <br /> <br /> Disappointed there wasn't a poll posted on these major price hikes on rotational monthly items. I know your trying to fix the economy but I don't think this is the best way to achieve those desired results. Would have been just enough to drop the trail winnings and let the economy even its self-out when cash flow decreased...<br /> <br /> Working
