I live in NJ, and one of the vets I work with was telling us last weekend about how she was up there helping the search & rescue dogs in 2001. She said that, like their human counterparts, most of them developed medical problems after their time at the WTC.

RIP to the lost ones. A friend of mine lost her mother because of it, and even though we were very young, it was very difficult. Also, Locked, I believe only one dog was lost during the attack... Sirius the Lab. Although it is sad to lose a dog. 3:

This day will forever burn in my memory as the day out peace of mind was ripped from all American's. Although it happened in the US, I know we weren't the only ones affected. It is good to finally have something like the new memorial to direct out thanks, graditiude, sorrow, and all those memories that will be permenantly etched into my brain. When I was just 6, only a year after the accident, I went to New York with my father for one of his friend's weddings. Her husband was a fire fighter, and his entire ladder, aside from him, had been killing when the South tower collapsed. Their reception took place in the Fire Fighter museum, and the eerie feeling I got from that, even though I was only 6, was something I will never forget. God Bless all who lost more than just their peace of mind.

R.I.P Those who died in the crashes or aftermath of the Twin Towers, Pentagon, and Flight 93... I've been to where Flight 93 crashed.. They were all very brave.. I've also been to where the Twin Towers once stood.. I still can't believe so many innocent people died that day.

This day will forever live in my memory as the day where 343 of my fire brothers and sisters and 15 or my brothers and sister in medicine died doing what they lived to do. They made the ultimate sacrifice for people they had never met.

And in addition to those who were on the planes that hit the trade centers and the pentagon, let us not forget those who were on the plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania field that day.

RIP 343 <3

I lost one of my role models when the Twin Towers were crashed into. I will never forget her, Christine always remains in my heart. My thoughts and prayers goes out to others who have also dealt with similar circumstances on September 11, 2001.

I hold the fallen in my heart but just as they did on that day, they do not stand alone. Held there in my heart as well are the survivors of that tragic day. The families left behind. The civilians who risked their own lives to help. The emergency responce teams that came from all over to help. The soldiers, past, present, and future, who have, are, and will continue to fight on our behalf to give us and keep our freedom and our safety.

James Mortian Kurth, Marine Corps
James Dean Kurth, ARMY
Timothy Kurth, Navy
Elizabeth (Kurth) Ledvina, ARMY
David Kofstad, Navy
Rick Kofstad Jr, Army
Grampa Kofstad, Army
/Holds head to flag and salutes./ I am glad we are not celebrating, but remembering. Many people were lost, good innocent people, and I wish that it had never happened. I am very happy though, about what Ala is doing. :)

I'm glad to see Ala honoring those affected.

It was pretty chilling to see the Soldiers down here in Afghanistan standing together intermingled with national forces and local Afghanistan citizens as well as we held the moment of silence.
