Exactly what Nelly said - I think the reason there are so many people voting yes is because there are a lot of people not wanting to do the work for themselves. <br /> <br /> It's not HARD to find good dogs in the custom tool, but people who have put the time into it aren't going to have any credit for their work any longer. Plus, you notice the people opposed to the idea are the ones commenting and protesting against this, none of those "lazy" people who want the guide have put the work into typing up a comment :P lol<br /> <br /> Plus, I think if the glitch codes are posted, then Alacrity is going to become crazy like Wajas where every dog is all colorful and sparkly and obnoxious. It won't have any ounce of realism left, because obviously everyone will jump on the bandwagon making blue and pink and rainbow dogs rather than realistic ones. What's the point of even using realistic markings, then? Let's get some flame markings for the GSDs and a clown makeup marking for JRTs. And then how about dogs grow manes and have mutations like wings and unicorn hooves that can be passed along genetically? I mean, if you're going to put so much effort into a html code guide (which would by the way literally never be complete - some of my dogs have long gibberish opacities like 83947928759675487468), then why not go all out with the wildness? [I'm being somewhat facetious by the way - I would hate for Ala to become like this]

I agree with everyone. What would be the point of the hide coat tool ? What would be the point of a CUSTOM dog if there are so many of them ? Take my custom, Winnie, for example. She's a sleeper glitch, and is very beautiful to me. If her opacities were posted on the wiki, she wouldn't be very special to me anymore. I'm guessing most people who voted as many colors as possible were newbies, or people would just wanted a guide to glitches to not have to work themselves. No offenence. But long story short, I second everyone else.

I agree with the rest, this makes the hide coat info completely pointless now that the codes will be publicly displayed. If people want glitched dogs they should earn them by figuring out the colors on their own like the rest of us did.

I agree with everyone else's opinions. Glitch breeders spend a lot of their time figuring out these glitch codes for their precious customs. It wouldn't be fair for them, who spent a good hunk of time cracking the codes. It's not fair for others to take advantage over what glitch breeders spent their time working on just to have it publicly displayed for anyone to view. :C

The staff aren't the ones that are going to be testing the codes, I will probably be the one doing it. I asked Kitty for this, anyways. And what you are saying doesn't make sense, Clay. I'm not taking other people's glitch codes, I'm going into the maker and manually finding and making them myself.

I totally agree with the others and I love Clay's example! :D It fits this situation just perfect!

Unless you plan on making the worlds longest list I doubt you would ever be able to cover every glitch color for every breed... even all the smooth glitch colors. And I think the staff has or at least should have more important things to do than sit around testing every single possible glitch range. And let's face it, even though it isn't the easiest thing in the world to find the perfect glitch color it's also not that hard so it seems like a waste of staff time to put so much effort into this kind of thing. I understand why some people might want this but I personally think it's just a waste of time that could be spent on something better. :)

Like I've said before, it's like owning a secret brownie recipe you made up yourself. You make a good amount of $$ by selling these brownies.. then all of a sudden, someone comes along and says "hey! who wants to know ___'s secret recipe!? :D"<br /> <br /> Well, there goes my brownie making business :D

I agree with everyone... What would be the point for the hide feature and creating a custom dog with it's own look if everyone is going to know the codes for it?

I agree with Three, I don't want people to be able to just copy my glitches I worked hard to discover and payed bones to make into custom dogs. (I made them into customs because they were unique and special but they won't be if just anyone can make that dog's glitch.) What's the point of hiding the markings if someone can just look at the codes and say, "Ooh! That's awesome! I want it!" then go make a glitch dog as easy as that when people worked hard to discover it?

Seconding everything Three said. I don't even understand why this was taken into consideration. <br /> It's a slap in the face to me and everybody else who sat and created our glitches ourselves, who pushed for the option to hide coat info, and who make $$/bones off of glitch pups.

I don't want a dozen dogs colored exactly like mine, and I'd feel like that would happen if my codes were included in the wiki. What's the point of allowing us to hide coat information? The only reason I do this is so people can't just copy my glitch codes - discovering the appropriate opacities is a challenge for me, and it's honestly kind of personal on a weird level. It would devalue my customs a lot if my hard work were available for anyone to steal. Not that it'd ruin Alacrity forever for me, but it'd be something worth frowning over for sure.

I'm with the rest of these guys. As a newbie, I had so much fun playing with the custom tool and learning what made certain colors. I think it should be an experience everyone goes through, not have it handed to them on a silver platter.

I agree with the posts below. It wouldn't be horrible to me, but I don't think those who worked hard to find the glitches would be very happy with their work layed out for everyone else to use...

I agree with Aussie. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be moderately disappointing.

I am sure glitch breeders who worked hard at finding these colors and were happy to see the hide coat thingy come into play won't appreciate their hard work splattered all over the wiki.

Aw, I thought the news update would be the contest winners. Can't wait to see/read the winning entries! :C Nonetheless, I voted.
