"Forego throwing out your Christmas tree and make it lunch. The Evergreen is actually edible, well most parts of it anyway. In addition, it is nutrient enriched, so if you take the advice stated previously you'd be getting a good source of Vitamin C and roughage. Don't mind that you will be eating a tree; it's just one step away from any other vegetable"

My family had the tradition of my dad making breakfast Christmas morning for all friends and family, but I lost my dad, mom, and brother over the summer, and am now living with my cousins. I'm trying to get my cousin to hold the Christmas breakfast here, as I would usually help my dad.

Ukrainian Christmas trees are sometime decorated with spider webs because it is said a poor family woke up once on Christmas morning to find their previously bare tree covered in shiny silver spider's webs.

My family pulls names out of a bag. We all get to get a present for that person! It's very interesting to see people's faces when they see the person they got!

My family plays 'Find the Pickle' every year. A pickle ornament is hidden in the tree, first to find it wins a prize! Money, or to open a christmas present a day early!!

Jesus was actually born on January 1, but Joseph and Mary moved the date back a week to get a government-approved tax deduction.

Tiny statuettes of people taking a dump (called caganers) are the amazing Christmas tradition of the people of Catalonia, Spain, who hide the little poopers in nativity scenes.

America’s official national Christmas tree is located in King’s Canyon National Park in California. The tree, a giant sequoia called the “General Grant Tree”, is over 90 meters (300 feet) high, and was made the official Christmas tree in 1925. (And no doubt we’re paying that electric bill somehow.)

In Czech on Christmas Eve night all single women would toss their shoes in the air, known formally as the "She Tossing." To tell if they would marry within the next year. If the shoe heel was facing towards the door, it would mean that she would remain single in the year. However if it was pointing towards the door, it would mean that she would be moving out of her parent's house and in with her new spouse. [Which was believed that she would get in the year.]

If you're in Japan, Christmas lunch is most likely a bird that tastes like chicken, rather than cheese. That's because it is chicken. KFC. The fast food giant has marketed itself so successfully over many years, that some Japanese families now place their orders for Christmas lunch months in advance! :O
