We will most definitely bare that in mind for the future, Kicch. When these changes take place, we never go into it with the intention of being unfair to anyone, we're just eager to fix things when we discover a mistake like this. Technically, people had many months to purchase these items at cash prices that weren't even meant to be there, as said, since the cash pricing of our major rare items was done in error. For something like this situation, I do feel as though we need to fix such a mix-up ASAP, rather than invite people to take advantage of the mistake for a prolonged period.

However, for changes in the future not based on a mistake like this, such as if we have to change a dynamic of the game or will be introducing new things, we do intend to give everyone advanced notice. :) At the moment, we have lots of things planned to add to the game over the coming months that will help the economy as well as make gameplay more immersive/realistic, and we're excited to be working toward making Alacrity more balanced and fun! <3

Oh, I don't -mind- the change, Carni. I'm with you about the rarest of rares being for bones only and not being stocked 24/7. It's how the news posts let us know about these changes that upsets me. This isn't the first time that I've logged on to see such an update that tells one to hurry when it's already too late. I wouldn't have been so upset had we been given time to adapt and prepare. Even 24 hours would've been more fair than the 5 minutes after which the change was already made. I never had the chance to buy myself a couple lockets because I live in Europe and was asleep at the time, and because I don't spend every minute of my life staring at Ala in case of updates, just in case of these situations. Really, it's not the first time this has happened, Ala just likes to do this. Many times I've seen people complain about this, not being given a fair warning and the chance to participate still. Some other sites I'm on give you a few days before they remove certain items from the stores like this, and to be honest.. Ala might just be the first site for me that does such changes without warning. It wasn't always like this.

The restock was not intentional, it was automated by the code in the system. This has been rectified.

We do apologize to those who are upset, but certain items never should have been released for cash prices. You will see that the cash boutique does still have some of the more minor magical items, as well as the scholar collar available. However, what has been removed from the cash shop will not be re-released for cash prices. When I first joined Alacrity almost 2 years ago, such items were for bones-only and we must return them to this method of pricing. The items were never meant to be so easily and readily available. They're termed "rare" for a reason.

At most, in the future, there is the possibility of holding cash auctions for these rare items, but I can't promise this. It will have to be deliberated between the admins before any official guarantee could be made. Again, I'm truly sorry to those this change has upset. There's a great deal in store for the future, and we will have other things to provide our community with that will serve as cash-drains to help stabilize the economy. :}

I'M happy you guys decided to bring the stuff back in the cash shop! :D But same question as ionic: what about the MLL's? ^^

Will MLL's also be brought back? I'd think they fall into this category too. >.>

Crisis averted. =D Glad to see almost everything important was restocked in cash. :3

Ugh lame italics fail.
Currently, MRB are five bones, they used to be $180,000. I would sometimes go through 5 MRB in a week ($900,000). Now that they're bone-only and bones are valued at around 80-100k right now.. that's overpricing them by about /three times/ what they were originally priced at... and because of this, I won't continue buying them. I wouldn't DREAM of purchasing a MRB for 500k.

I have to say, I don't support suddenly switching rares to bone-only either. Certain rares simply aren't worth just bones.
The majority of my money is spent on Magical Rubber Balls, and as (allegedly) one of the richest players on the site, I will no longer have a means of "funneling" my cash out lol.
I only use MRB to assist in training my pit line, it's not like I'm MRB-ing capped dogs (would be a waste of my money).. so I'm losing money by buying MRB to train my pits (that I don't trial, I'm currently only training and breeding) so that money will remain in my bank.

Mm, what I was going to say has been said. Now aside from my two monthly bags per month, not much else to spend money on. Insta-pups and lockets were really it. Unless bone prices drop to at least 85k and stay there, suppose I'll stick my cash in the bank.

I think the magical items should be kept for cash. It gives everyone a fair chance at getting a locket for that very special dog. For those who cannot donate to Ala, it is now nearly impossible to get ahold of these items. And we're all worrying about Ala's economy, won't this worsen it? Bone prices are skyrocketing and they'll only get higher if we don't do something about it.

Thought I'd put in my two cents here.

I sent to look literally less than ten minutes after the update an all the magic items were gone. This seems to be doing what will boost the bone economy (although, most people who CAN donate already do, in whateve amount) and the opposite of what's needed for the cash economy. Hopefully this makes a nice enough impact that I can afford the $600K that magical alarm clocks cost in stores now. ;_;

Well that's too bad. It probably would have been better to keep those items as offered for cash as well... what with the total amount of currency getting closer to $2 billion? :P

.___. No MLLs for money? I will never be able to get my beloved dogs immortal then. <__< You could've warned us a litter earlier. I got the message when everything was removed already... Great.. I don't see any use in this as everyone is complaining there is too much ala cash on this site. I think this is just to make more people donating.

I wish we could've gotten a better warning. So much for buying a few lockets for the future. u_u I like it better when sites allow you a couple days before the change is made.
