jack i love the idea of the reserve a pup fee would be a great thing and i think the RE thing should be blocked form pup predictor pages i often find myself refreshing a lot for pups especially when i have good dogs it would get costly i think the timer would go great though like howrse has a 30 second time limit for how often you can purchase certain item's why not at least 10 secs for pup predictor this also gives the page plenty of time to load

What if you could pick 1, 5, 10, 20 predicts per click with a refresh time limit. That would help lower the server load from refreshes and allow players with small screens to pick one and players who want to see more at once that option. And maybe even make the higher predicts/page an upgrade only option since those players pay to play thus supporting the site.

Hmm, I suppose it is a question of if you would rather wait x seconds to refresh a page, or pay $10 to see another predict instantly. Loading multiple images on a screen will be very hard on users with slow connections or computers.
I am not enthralled with the idea of a pup predict fee, but I can see where it is coming from and its benefits to the site. I hope to push for a feature in the future that will allow us to reserve pups from the pup predictor for a fee to balance it out, but will have to see if it is a feasible idea first.
I suggest if there are further ideas, to perhaps place them in the suggestion forum so that they can be properly looked at. Otherwise news posts can be easily overlooked or forgotten if time passes, and is not the most ideal place for a detailed discussion in and of itself. As blocking a page from spawning random events should be possible as well, and it never hurts to try to garner support with reasons listed if you feel strongly. The best way to state it would be to both site and player benefit rather than strictly player benefit if you want the other administrators to review it.

Would it help server load if multiple predicts were generated at once (with both adult/pup images displayed concurrently)? With perhaps a short timer ala CSmoothie's Pound timer to prevent rapid refreshing? You'd need a few seconds to take in what was generated anyways. Oldschool training produced similar problems (constant dog refreshes) and was resolved similarly with the multi-training-session fix, correct?
Is a concern that people are using refreshes on the predicts page to mask/excuse their RE attempts? Could RE contents be obtained through some other source (Shadow Rayne suggested a wishing well, both a money sink and a low-server-cost refresh? Could perhaps also have results stacked like training, and be limited to x wishes per day?) to eliminate that problem entirely?

The refreshing on the pup predictor page is less a problem of RE events (which is a problem in itself), but the act of refreshing endlessly without random events still causes the server intense problems if a lot of people do it at once. In a way it seems like a better solution than limiting pup predicts so long as the fee is affordable for everyone. Enough for the average person to keep using it freely, but not so much that someone would think about leaving auto-refresh there or a rock on their keyboard. At least, it seems like the thinking to me.

The discussed fee was something along the lines of $10 per predict. I do not know if that will change (as I do not know either); but it gives you an idea of what was mentioned and perhaps a feel for where the price may lie.

Pup Predicting Fee!! Why would you do that!!
I might as well quit alacrity if every thing you do is going to start costing you money in order to prevent cheating...
Rather have a RE cap per day per person.
Or Pup Preditions Left... Like Breeding Sessions left.....
Alacrity is possibly going to become over priced if things continue. It will deter new members and older members will become bored.
If you want to drain money why not have a wishing well or something like it. It resembles the rare item bone exchange but costs ala cash..... and has a chance of giving you rares along with food bundles ect.

Sounds great, all but one. Not the idea of a pup predictor fee :( I don't have much money, since I only recently returned to Ala. That was one feature I loved to play around with, and sometimes did before buying a dog. Depending on how much it will cost, I might not be able to use it, and neither will others who are just starting out.

I don't bother to predict much at this point, because I don't think I have ever gotten a predicted pup, hahaha.

Not sure how that blank comment from me got there. ;_;
I guess I'll have to be predicting now for my newborns....is it pay per couple or pay per refresh? Most of the time it wouldn't be worth it as I tend to get the same predicts over and over again. I agree that it will be harsh for newer players; I've been here over 3 months and it's still hard to bring in cash. Although maybe it's just me.
I agree with a lot of DerangedHyena's ideas; prohibitation would be a great idea. :3 I wouldn't mind paying a tiny, tiny fee (Like 10$ per couple) if I could see adult pup images rather than puppies, because coats can change drastically between them, and I don't always have the time to figure out the code and plug it into the custom tool to find what the predicts really show.
I do love the icon and leasing ideas, as well as most of the others =D

I'm nervous about this pup predict fee... Not for myself necessarily, but for newer players. I see a huge number of hideous glitches and boring blah colored dogs just because people don't want to or can't afford to pup predict anymore. :|
But whatever, I'm just happy to see some of these other fixes.

Guess that's the end of pup predicts for me. I don't care THAT much, though I suppose I can see how some people would 'use' it to cheat.

Wouldn't it be easier to prohibit RE's on a page that encouraged refreshing? Perhaps put a button in with that kind of restriction for the refresh, since that's what everyone is there to do anyways?
Perhaps the page could also automatically display both puppy and adult images. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't care what the "pup" predict is and will always check out the adult one. Which is an annoying extra click.
Unless the fee is prohibitively high, long-time users won't care -- they tend to have millions of Alacash and easy means of acquiring more. If it is high, it will unnecessarily penalise newer users who won't have that kind of money.
Wouldn't it be easier to financially (and stats-wise) penalise breeding itself? Make people think twice before breeding their 2.00 TP unmaxed dogs together?

Really cool!!! Can't wait :P
Kinda too bad on the pup predict fee, but I see why it's needed. I see a decrease in amount people post pup predicts in chat.

Excited about most, except the pup predictor. It's hard enough to earn money without capped or OTC dogs. -goes to pup predict all my newborns- XD

Sounds amazing, can't wait to see these implement, especially the foundy thing. I'll be able to get my Pit line off the ground.
