I think it's kinda funny that a baseless rumor someone started about the staff rigging the results 3 polls ago is still going so strong. The staff, being players themselves and all having the ability to vote, are just as divided as everyone else.

I do agree, however, that having the staff vote would be a terrible way to decide - even if it wouldn't result in just about equal support for each - because this decision belongs to all of us. I would prefer to see both breeds up in the near future, but obviously that takes a lot of work to do and even more to do well - and I'm certain we'd all be immensely disappointed if it wasn't done to the incredible standards we have come to expect from our talented art team.

What about a basic preview sketch of both and we choose what we want after seeing them?

I agree to having them both added. I do not believe that it would be fair do do a coin toss or anything like that. Just having the staff vote wouldn't really be fair, as they will most likely be a handful that voted for one breed, or mostly one breed. I know it will be a lot of work for the artist to do both of the breeds, but I'm confident they can get it done.

On another note, I'm pretty sure Great Danes should be added first. While about half of the population on Ala will disagree, you have to look at the other side; We have huskies. They are not exactly Shibas, but their related, and we have nothing that looks remotely like a Great Dane.

Also, before anything is done, the last set of pups should be made. You artist don't want to get piled up with three pups {Catas, and the new breeds} to make along with the new breeds?

Adding both does seem the best and most obvious solution. c: While it does mean double the work for our fantastic art team, I don't see how it would be fair to users to choose one or the other at this point. It's clearly and even split for the two breeds -- they were neck&neck all evening, with each only pushing ahead by a handful of votes here and there.

In regards to claims as to why one or the other would be a better choice for the site -- neither would have been in the poll had they not been considered viable & acceptable additions to the site, and it would be a bit silly to make a distinction like that between them when each had an equal chance of being the winning breed. c:

I think to be fair both should be added and I think they both will be adorable especially the shiba's even though I voted for the danes.

I think both should be added so no unhappy users are moping around.

Danes all the way. I think Shiba Inus don't come in that large color variety that Great Danes can come in. Plus they're large so there's a lot of place for markings to go on them xD

I say both would be best; there's players who prefer one over the other and since it was tied, both is a fair compromise. It's just the trouble of deciding which should be added first xD My vote still goes to the Danes though lol

And they're off! Shiba and Dane are neck in neck as they're rounding the first turn...they're going strong! They've left poor Whippet and Spaniel in the dust, and they're passing the three quarter turn! It's Shiba in the lead by a nose! It's Dane by a nose! We have no official outcome as of yet, but wait, they've reviewed it and....they've drawn!

I'm just wondering what the deadline for (i)this(/ii) poll will be. I want to start spending the bones I started hoarding 2 months ago for the new breed. I'm not inclined to buy anymore while I currently have 305 rotting away as the new breed gets further and further away.

hmmm but they didn't hit 413 until quite a bit past midnight from what i saw? shouldn't the votes that slipped in after that be discounted as well? just curious.
