That was not meant to be an argument for or against the word lol, just another bit of info from a Canadian

Eskimo may certainly be considered offensive by some (where I live, nobody really even says the word and if they do, it's never used as an outright insult) depending on where you live, but the word is really just a translation of a phrase that someone may or may not find offensive. I've always heard "Inuit > Eskimo" and never really understood why, but I suppose the level of offensiveness depends on where you live and how the word was used.

Ah, that's good to know! Maybe I'll attempt the auction... Even though I can't be around all the time. *fingers crossed*

After speaking with/hearing from several Canadians, I've opted to go ahead and change Eskimo to Inuit, in the interest of avoiding offense from any of our Canadian users. I will point out, however, that Eskimo is an accepted and non-derogatory term when it comes to Alaskan and Siberian natives, and this was why we didn't think there'd be any harm in using it. But, we will err on the side of caution after hearing from several people. :}

Roo, the winner of the CC slot will not have to pay any more than what they spend either on an auction or a raffle. When they win, the slot is theirs to use. :}

So... Are we going to have to spend lots of money on the auction and then also spend lots of money on CCs? I've been waiting so long for a CC of my poor Dusty, but there's no way I can win an auction, since I don't spend every second glued to the computer. Oh well...
