I was referring to the V-day contest & raffle :> Staff is allowed to do USD raffle, but I still find it unfair how we cant do the v-day contest or $$ raffle.

I know Clay, which is why I'm so disappointed. I have to scrounge up real USD to buy actual real-life necessities. I can't afford to go as high as I know the site auction will go. I was fully prepared to spend a majority of the 12mil in my bank on bidding on an Ala cash auction, but I'm not about to spend it on raffle tickets when I know the chances of me winning are slim to none. I'm disappointed :c

I think that the poll should have been two tiered.

One asking about auctions.

One asking about raffles.

My views on staff participation on raffles/auctions is as follows
We don't have a lead against you guys, we earn our money the same as you do. Before I was even a staff member, I had raised over $3 million by myself. To think that the staff team is a good ol' boys gang that pats one another on the back and rigs votes is incredibly hurtful, because ALL of us get barred from participating, thus ALL of us could be "cheaters".
The assumption that if a staff member wins, that the votes must have been rigged is nonsense, because if the staff team were cheaters and rigged votes (which they HAVEN'T and NEVER HAVE), they could easily make a non-staff friend win a raffle or auction.
But instead, because people think we rig the votes, I and all other staff members are unable to participate. I am unable to use my art skills in the Valentines day contest because people think the staff are cheaters, and it hurts.

That's my two cents.

Roo, Xy's is a USD auction, Rixon's is a raffle

I thought it was going to be an auction...As in, you know, highest bidder wins. Not a raffle, as in "You have to pay money and STILL you don't have a guaranteed chance of winning." I knew I'd never win an auction (not enough money, methinks) but I was going to participate because I thought it would be fun to see how high the price goes. But a raffle? My luck is pretty not so good as it is - I'm not about to shell out 10k per ticket and not win anything. At least with an auction, you can bid and bid but you're not required to pay if you lose. :c

Personally, I think that staff should be able to bid just like us users. You can really 'cheat' when it comes to real money. Though I do think that we should change that to Alacrity money or bones. But other than that everyone should have the freedom to bid and vote ect. But, thats just what I think.

You know, I think the staff members should be allowed to participate, as it's fair everyone deserves to have a chance, and be comfortable & be allowed to play. Staff title or not, everyone deserves to be included. The raffle ticket I really do not see a point in joining anyways for that one. The $US dollar raffle they themselves are paying with there own money, that is fair. There is no possible way to "cheat" especially bidding with really money.

I think staff members should be allowed to participate, ether way people need to stop being sore losers & saying "Oh, that person is a staff member this whole think was fake" no it isn't are staff members are true to everyone and help the game. So why would they cheat? They are also bidding with there own money, and you know how much effort and time they put into this site to make it a better community for us?

I really don't see why they can't participate, I think they should be allowed but this is my own opinion and everyone's opinions can be different.

so it'd require three artists a month to do raffles if you add a staff raffle, and we'd be back to basically all artists working on CC's as before
I stopped accepting CC's because of lack of time ;_; this way is much better. And I agree with Cord there.

I think the normal raffle for Ala$/bones should be User only. However I don't see why they can't be part of the USD bidding. There is no possible way for anyone to "cheat" in a cash bidding war really, so I say as long as they can pay what ever bid they put forward they, like any other member of ala, should be aloud to participate.

Are staff barred from the auction as well or only the raffle?

If the people of Alacrity doesn't think that it is fair that Ala's staff also joins in on the raffle, why not just let Alacrity Staff have their own little raffles? So that the people who think it isn't 'fair' won't cause any drama or fights over the raffles. XD But, I am totally fine with it.. Just the last couple of Raffles I have notice while I have been on Alacrity, I do believe somebody from the staff every time has won.. But, that's all I have known since I've been on Alacrity. XD lol

I personally think the current no staff participation is great. They already have enough going for them. Let the regular users have a chance.

I hope you allow staff members to participate soon. It doesn't seem fair that everyone else gets the opportunity, even if there was suspicion. This raffle will cause a lot of people to say “I never win” and complain – why not allow staff members to participate regardless? There is always going to be unjust suspicion even if it is entirely random. Let the staff have their turn. :0) Plus, it will provide a bigger USD/Ala cash pot to whomever gets it.

I don't quite see why staff couldn't at least enter the USD one because there is no way to have an advantage with that at all. The bids are in clear view on the forums. The more 'unfair' part I believe stems from when things are up for auction through the auction feature using bones/alacash. There isn't really a way to have it 'unfair' with USD. I understand though keeping to the cautious side. It's nice to know players are being valued. Thanks Carni =)

Anyways, I'm glad people are having a shot at the custom companions again =) I still have mine from when they were first opened for purchase on the site. I think I'll buy just a few tickets and leave it up to the random draw though I highly doubt anything will come of it. Bad events after bad events for me! So! I can't wait to see what the winners come up with! I hope to see some adorable companions! I have no doubt with Rix and Xys skills that it will be worth it. ^^

Yes, ordering copies of Standard tier CCs will be 10 bones, and 20 bones for Ultra CCs. :} Same as always.

Hmm, interesting way to set it up. Raffle is straightforward enough though I admit I had to read through the $USD one several times before I understood everything. I will be interested to see how well this auction goes and how popular it is. As long as the auctions don't go too high to be reasonable donation amounts, I'll participate. I can see it shooting shy-high in instances.

I'm also not sure about the bones and items being removed for the donation. I understand the purchasing part, but if they *used* to be available for bones, when you donated to buy those bones, you would be able to keep the benefits - items, double special, etc. Which may make them more expensive now to purchase than the previous method, but I suppose, it all does depend on how high the auction goes.
