I like this change. It makes me value my virtual money more.

I just want to place a few comments that are on my mind. They aren't really complaints but they aren't really "Yay I'm in love with this change."
I've been on Ala for a few months now and have gotten to test alot of things out and form some opinions.
First off, I agree with the recent change to take out free pay options from the cash shop. It never made since to me in the first place. How is the site expected to make money if there is no incentive for members to pay in?
I of course don't think anyone should be forced to pay in to play but support the change to make the monthly shop a real cash shop.
I also agree that the frisbee game up to now has been paying way to much out for the effort it took. However I believe the fix is an over correct, specially considering since after this month the monthly shop will no longer allow ala cash, it solves the problem of the cash flow problem to a degree, and somewhat takes care of the inflation. However it makes it hard to trial if there is no money to trail with.
For me who has a good back drop of money from my past gaming it's not that much of a problem.
However my friend who just started is already as a huge disadvantage now.
She doesn't have the dogs to play frisbee with, doesn't have the money to trial with or to buy new good dogs, unless she spends real cash.
My suggestion is after this month is over to perhaps bring the earnings up a little probably to 500 maximum. At least til some of the inflation comes down.
That or take away the cash buy option now.
Why bother letting it linger around, unless it's because you're still playing with the code.
In my opinion you have ripped off the frisbee game like one would a band-aid, however, with the monthly shop your are slowly and painfully taking it off.
Why not fix both at the same time so as to make the lose easier?
I know it's going to make people upset either way, but this game is awesome. The staff is crazy good, and either way this game must be put on crutches until the money wound can be healed.
I think us older players understand, specially since we all run real lives and know that sometimes we must go with out to fix the bigger problem. It's hard but I think it would make us better if we could fix the cash flow problem as well as make it manageable for people to make a "living".

It sounds like ya'll are struggling pretty badly. Hopefully the donations will pick up soon. I love this game, and I haven't been able to donate for awhile now. I hope you can make all adjustments necessary to keep this afloat. Never really played frisbee anyhow, didn't even know you could make that much lol.

Well, this for one hurts me a bit...I don't have an "easy way" to make money, at any rate, I never made much from Frisbee, I only have 5 dogs to catch anyway

"Okay, my dears, I know this will upset several people,"
You said it.
I understand, however. It's free money, anyway. There shouldn't be too many reasonable complaints. I'd never demand a twenty-dollar bill when someone offered me $5 free bucks in real life. Unreasonable that would be indeed.

I thought the higher frisbee payout was altered after the trial winnings were lowered, to make up for that? I hope we have some more effective ways to make money between trials and games.

I am still rather new here but enjoyed Frisbee. I am hopeless with trialing..doesn't make me much if anything. It would be nice if the Frisbee amounts weren't lowered so drastically. up to $500 would be nice ..considering I was fortunate to break $100 today.
anyways if trialing were easier I would work on that..but for me it is not..frisbee helped me top up the bank. and I can't afford to invest a lot of 'real' money either..just don't have it. so count me as one who is not happy with the extent of the change rather than the change itself.

Ah bummer that's how I was being lazy and making all my money XD
That being said, this is probably for the best. It was way imbalanced and I pretty much quit trialing when the Frisbee payouts went up a few months ago. Ala is about trialing and I really wanna see the trialing system get fixed! :)
I'm with others here, I'm not about breeding super high TP dogs - I'm really into breeding for coats. However, trialing *can* still be profitable, even with lower TP dogs. :) You just have to have a strategy (which I think is what makes it fun...) For example, I have a 477 TP dog, who has 57 wins. Obviously he looks dwarfed in comparison to all those capped monster dogs out there, but he's managed those 57 wins by being strategic about which trials I place him in.

Guys, trials work. I know many people are upset, I know I know. But come on. The changes to Alacrity are crucial to keep Ala going steadily, and I'm sure the staff are doing the best they can. They're absolutely not trying to get anyone mad or lose interest in Alacrity, they just want to try to make a better experience for players. Not everything is perfect. Alacrity is trying very hard to please players and people are sad, but you can move on to trialling and other games. It still exists. In my opinion, the Frisbee was too much money from the start. I don't play many games, but I get by easily. You could go read the making money guide, or sell some of your items to get more money. It's just the Frisbee game and the Monthly Shop. Not that big of a deal, we really need to stop overreacting. The staff is trying to keep players happy.

Having high TP dogs is not a requirement for winning in trials. Many of my dogs are only around 1k TP, and most are under that. I've earned well over 50k today on trials alone with these dogs.
Please guys.. please give Trials a chance. It's not the terrible thing you think it is.

Many people are upset about the changes to help fix the economy, but they are crucial to keep Alacrity running efficiently.
Those of you claiming it was your "only way to get money", that is simply not true. There are so many ways to earn money on Alacrity it's ridiculous, but with a few of them, you must be willing to put time and dedication into it. Not everything can be easy-peasy.

Great :c There goes my only way to really make money >.>
And before anybody tries to correct me as always, yes, I know there are ways like trialing and stuff, but I don't have the time or the money to get the TS to train high TP dogs and, therefor, have better trialing, so I still think trialing is a waste of time >.>
This site, I'm afraid, is losing my interest, like most other sites always seem to. v.v

Like the rest of us, I've been okay with the changes so far, and I understood why. The economy sucks and cutting out monthly shop items from being cash bought is understandable, but now you're just catering to half of the community on Alacrity, the agility half. This game is an agility game, yes, but not all of the players are in it for the agility. The ones that are in it for breeding great dogs and getting great designs (like me) and working on coats rather than TP are left in the dust here. If you're leaving the only main source of income to Trialing a lot of us are going to have to be forced to give up what we worked for and be pushed into trialing.
I understand why you'd want to cut the money down on the frisbee game, I was making a killing at it, but 3 turns? Come on, most dogs don't even make two out of five times, you should <i>at least<.i> keep it at five turns to give those with frisbee dogs a chance, and those that want to not do trial dogs a better income. Please change it back. :(

This won't hurt me, but good to know the Risk is worth it.
It won't hurt me. Yet. Oh dear. Oh crumb.

Why drop how many the dogs can play if you drop the amount of money you can get, and why drop the money so low?

As a note, I'm pretty sure I just breached making 30k with one round of trials with my dogs.. and all the trials haven't even run yet. Trials have been a good money maker to begin with, just no one paid attention after the frisbee game became the big thing. :( Come trial with meeee

I'm excited about these changes to fix the economy! Though it may seem like opportunities for making money are decreasing, they're really not! I'm able to make $100k+ per week on my side account just by doing games and playing frisbee with 5 dogs.

I'm sad to lose the easy earnings, but I agree it was far too much money for how much effort it takes compared to everything else on this site.
Posted on 03-2-2013 at 5:34 PM
trialing is still sa moneymaker & you can earn 12k total playing all of the games (excluding frisbee)

Nice to see all these changes that will help us get back on track. I miss the days of when this site was just about Trialing. Getting stuff was just way too easy around here. There was no challenge and no reason to do much around here. Glad to see the changes and I hope they continue. I know you guys have a ton of cool stuff just waiting for us and it can only get better from here!

I'll miss Frisbee-ing all my dogs in a day and getting a BG from the monthly shop, but I understand why it has to be done~ xD
I will miss you, oh easy days ;P

Why not keep it at 5 turns but just limit the money to the 20-200 range. I mean a 1k max instead of nearly 2k per turn makes sense, right? Sorry, its just I use the games for entertainment since it takes ages (even with companions) for dogs' energy to increase so the games are what keep me playing rather than just leaving and not coming back.

Cord,
I completely understand this change. Everyone is saying Alacrity is money-hungry, but think about it. They do need to make money to keep the game going, and the economy is horrible. This needs to change. And for all of you who are mad, it's overreacting. Really, I don't understand. :l
