Where do you enter your mascot entry?

I think there should have been a site poll before the competition to see which breed people want the most as the mascot and then submit designs of ONLY that one breed. It's too late now but that was just an idea so people aren't only voting on what breed they like.. =)

We are still picking a mascot based on which entry best fits! However, the first plan was to pick one dog of each breed and then let the users vote. But since we have some breeds that only have one or two entries, we can't pick that way. Instead, admins are just picking one dog out of the whole heap who they think best represents Alacrity. Out of those dogs we pick, mods, NHs, and the rest of our players will get to vote on them to decide on which dog will be the mascot.

Actually, we don't. We (I'm speaking only for the moderators and maybe NH) just bump the entries up to the admin hub. I don't know if the staff went through and looked through each submission before bumping, but we're really going at this blind as well (except for maybe ZJ or other admins who looked at the submissions as a requirement for this contest)

Mods, NH, artists and maybe some admins are pretty much going at this blind as well. I only know what my entry looks like.

I'm glad you feel that way Loree, but not everyone feels it's fair. Staff are voting blind too, the only person who knows which submissions were from what person is me. What you will see for the finalists will be purely based on coat design. :3

Omg the stork idea is fantastic! I am always forgetting which dog is preggers. I know that sounds terrible, but I have a terrible memory, thanks so much for this!

Personally, I think it fair that dogs are chosen by users of the site, not just staff first.

Everyone can enter, and everyone had the same chance to choose particular breeds, or whatever.

So, personally, I don't care if a dog I enter has to compete against 50, and some other dog only has to compete against 2 for an elimination round.

Do you think it's fair some people compete against 20 fantastic entries for 1 spot, and one person only competes against 1 other? We're changing it to choose based purely on coat. If the design is fantastic, we'll choose it, doesn't matter if it's the only of it's breed or one of 45 entries for a breed. Everyone will be competing against everyone for a top spot, that evens the playing field.

I don't think it matters if there is only one dog in a breed that wins by default They would still have to get several votes in a final contest, so I don't see the issue.

I disagree with this 'anonymous' finalist picking. I think the dog should be picked based on whose represents Ala the best, no matter what breed.
