I was really looking forward to this change, but now that it's happened I'm not too sure that it was made to benifit all of Alacrity's players. I do understand that this gives the artists creative freedom, but what about its community? Is it ok to just leave us in the dark in order to grant them this type of freedom?
I would like to say this though, I have absolutely no problem with the art team. It is because of them that we have the liberty of owning such beautiful dogs, as well as everything else hand crafted for our enjoyment. But those are a few questions worth thinking about.
For starters anybody that has an upgraded account has now been rejected something that has always been a sure thing with the purchase of said upgrade. You might not have always gotten what you wanted from the Monthly Bags, but it was still a freebie everyone looked forward to each month. Not to mention the fact that we no longer have the option of selling the Bag/Item we get from it in order to have some sort of income. Also, the "upgrade item" has always had a significantly lower sell value than the Monthly Bags/Items. For the most part you could re-sell your item from the Monthly Bag for the same price seen in the shop, as opposed to the "upgrade item" that your luck to sell if its priced at under a bone. Take a look at the current sell prices of the past "upgrade items" to validate my reasoning.
For the most part I keep quite about the going-on's around here, but a lot of these changes are starting to make me feel uneasy. I'm only praying that Alacrity isn't gradually shifting into a pay-to-play site. A lot of these changes are surely suggesting it... I for one don't think this has anything to do with the art team needing more space to roam. I'll be the first to admit it. Please prove me wrong.
I have a lot more that I'd like to say on the subject, but this isn't the "lets make a point" forum. However, if there is one of those please direct me to it.

While i do like the changes (And the art is gorgeous!) I think you are really overpricing the items. 5 bones for an companion is more then fine for me (Still a bummer you can't get it without spending bones), but 10 bones for a background? I'm sorry, but why would i spend 10 bones on something that's...well..useless? Aside from being really pretty, i would never. And 45 for a bundle? Of which i don't even want over half of the items? I would love to get a brown labrador but i can't afford to spend 45 bones on a bundle for just 1 item.
I also don't understand why you cut back on the 'gifts' you get when donating. I always thought it was great that you get more if you spend more. Why should you not get the celestial animal + the waterbowl + whatever comes after it? Is it to get people to spend more cash? Because i personally think it will just do the opposite. If i wanted the rat, i might've considered to spend 25 to also get the waterbowl - while i'm at it. Now? Not so much, i'm not going to spend 25 bucks on something i don't need. And why cut back on the chance to get a companion for those who upgrade their account? What use does an upgrade have now?
All and all, i'm a little disappointed with the recent changes on alacrity. It seems like you don't take the community in consideration with these changes at all.
Again, i love the artwork and i appreciate the hard work you guys do, just wanted to voice my opinion.

I'm also not pleased with the changes. I don't mind so much that there's no theme for the monthly shop but everything else feels like a big negative to me. I agree with much of what has already been said about the changes so I've no more to add.

Yup, when I paid to upgrade I was getting two freebies each month. One special item that was just for upgrades and a bag that might have a companion or a background. Now I am to be cheated out of what I paid for again. Not a good change.
And one of the many reasons I will no longer invest in the site. Changes that make it ever more difficult to trial on a level playing field or earn the money needed to improve your kennel.
And heaven help those who can not afford to buy bones or do not have something they can trade for them. Their kennels will always belong lower class citizens who can not compete with those who buy advantages.

To have to say... I'm not a fan of this new thing for our monthly shop. Honestly, I liked it way better with the themes. I know this may be eaiser for alacrity's art team, but I personally don't like this.

I agree with Pheonixfyre. The admins have taken away most of the benifits of being upgraded, and the laborador pups are cute and all, but one accessory doesn't make up for the possibility of getting a companion or a background.
