Hello, Alacrites!
This is a reminder that Alacrity will be represented at AnthroCon 2011 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA from June 23 through June 26!
Kittybot, one of our Site Artists, will be our primary representative, and there is a chance that
Robyn, the site owner, will be there also! (Robyn may not be able to attend for personal reasons, but we're trying our best to get her there!)
AnthroCon is a furry convention. If you aren't sure what a furry is, you can
read about it on the
website. This year, the convention theme is 'magic', and the Guests of Honor are
Peter S. Beagle, writer of
The Last Unicorn and many other fantasy novels, and
Andy Runton, creator of the
Owly series of graphic novels for all ages. There's plenty to do at the convention, from meet-and-greets and readings with the Guests of Honor, to how-to-draw lectures, to meet-ups for fans of specific animals, costuming fun, and much much more! You don't have to be a furry to go; being an animal enthusiast is more than enough. (And what are we, Alacrites, if not animal enthusiasts?)
There is even a special bonus for Alacrites who attend the convention! If you find
Kittybot (who should be at the AlacritySim.com table in the Dealer's Den, but may be in the Artists' Alley instead due to some bureaucratic confusion), and tell xem your Alacrity username and user ID, xe will put you down as a Con Attendee, which means that when the convention is over, you will receive a
free custom dog on Alacrity!
Kittybot will also be offering sketches of your Alacrity dogs for only $5 USD, which is 50% off of xyr normal price for sketches. So make sure, if you're at Anthrocon, to go and see
Kittybot! It's also a great chance to meet one of our site artists in person, and, as mentioned above, possibly even
Robyn as well!
