My doctor put me on that no-sugar, no refined carbs diet once, and it was very effective. I did it for about three years and lost a heck of a lot of weight. It did get easier to tolerate over time, nd also helped control my allergies, but I could never add anything back in without ballooning. There was just so much I couldn't have/do that I eventually started eating more normally again. Something more moderate with good exercise habits is probably better in the long run. :)
Yeah, I know how that is. It helps to get all sugar out of your system if you're going that way. You have to watch prepared foods, because lots of them have sugar added, and it's best not to eat fruit because that can trigger sugar cravings. After about three days with no sugar at all, the craving drops way down, though. Those first days can be tough.
