Have you asked for the dog back? Did you save the message/scribble? If you have the message where it says they will train your dog and then another where they think it is theirs, get a mod involved.
Just make sure that you ask politely for the return of your dog - some people lose track of who owns the dog - especially if they send it to a side account.
