Aviator Caps?

So I own a couple of them, and put them on my main show dog. He's maxed out in all his training stats.

I can't figure out whether the Aviator Cap just TRAINS a skill (and ergo putting it on my maxed dog is useless), or whether it ADDS to a skill, putting it over the maximum limit it had before. :S

Anyone know what it actually does?

Yes, to 8999.91 TP again eventually. Or that is to my understanding. I'm not 100% sure, your best bet is with the issue hub in terms of finding out staff decisions. It can get pretty ambiguous around here otherwise.
I can understand why they made the decision, it skews trials pretty badly.

What did they decide? Do all the dogs above the cap get their TP reset?
Poll is gone. The decision has been made, they just haven't successfully implemented it. It was a shame, because at the time there weren't many capped dogs widely spread and most of the users voted for limiting the TP as it wasn't a decision that would directly hurt them, only the minority of people who actually owned one. A bit biased on both sides, really.

But that's my opinion.
Did they still have the poll up then? Because that would mean I own a couple dogs over the limit, so I should probably put my two cents in.
Yep. They still go up invisibly at the moment for capped dogs as well.
As for the news post, I believe that's what they're trying to do, but I don't think they've made it that far in coding.
All I can tell you is what is current news to me, which is that it still invisibly over trains for everyone.
What about capped dogs? Do their stats continue to go up invisibly and affect trials and such? I'm pretty sure there was a news post a while back that said capped dogs can no longer go above 8999.91
In case I wasn't clear by "overtraining," if the dog has 16.00/16.00 trained in Weavepoles, it's actually secretly 16.20/16.00 in weavepoles, but it just doesn't show. It will still pass on the additional stats when breeding, and the additional stats will also still count when trialing.
Aviator cap still over-trains but you can't see which stats it has over trained them in now. You used to be able to.
The only way you can tell is by looking at the "Skill (completed %)" above their stats to see how much it's gone up by.
Aviator caps no longer stack, so it's .2 per stat every 12:15/4:15/8:15 Alacrity time, both am and pm.

As for Rosencrown, I just collect Aviator caps. They still give her tiny, tiny, tiny stat boosts, but they're mostly because I like keeping them, haha. I'll probably eventually move them to other dogs as and when I need them.
That's what I thought, but Rosencrown has like a bazillion on her and she's already trained to the maximum, I don't know why her owner would have them on her if it doesn't increase the max...
I belive it just trains them it doesnt allow a maxed dog to be more than what is maxed out to be
