Tiger's right - my shelter is always getting Huskies. People buy them and then have to surrender them because of landlord complaints (Huskies can be vocal), constant escaping (they tend to dig or jump or find other ways out), or destructive inside (cause if they don't get exercise, they'll take it out on your stuffs). If you check shelters and rescues, chances are you'll find a purebred husky, or a very husky-like mix. Good luck!

Shelters are FULLLLL of huskies! People buy one because they're cute and fluffy and don't know what they're getting into and then surrender them.

Good Luck!!!
Awesome! :D Congrats! I wouldn't know where to get a Husky, other than the local shelter. But, my suggestion is: Unless you are looking to show or breed your Husky and sell the pups, I wouldn't get a Purebred. Mixes live longer. ^~^ At least; In my experience. I'm no vet, so. xD But unless you really like the looks of a pure Husky, I wouldn't get one. There's plenty of Husky mixed strays and others in the Shelter looking for a home. Plus Pures usually cost more. xD Anyway. Good luck finding a pup! ^~^
