Anastasia flicked her ears for anymore sounds. There was none, it seemed quiet. The scent was strong now but then Blade's musky smell also entered the femme's nostrils.<br /> <br /> "Where did you think you were going?" Blade whispered. His voice had a sharp edge to it but it had cautiousness. <br /> <br /> Anastasia shot a you-better-shut-up-glare at the silver brute and once again listened intently. Blade surprisingly, actually heeded and kept quiet, only moving his ears.<br /> <br /> Just then, they heard a yell which nearly made the two jump from their pelts. Where the wolves calling their pack?<br /> <br /> <i> That won't be good! </i> Anastasia thought soberly. It wasn't though. Whoever said it- a male presumably- was saying to 'run'.<br /> <br /> "What cowards. I bet they're just wimpy scouts," Blade chuckled coldly. His brown eyes narrowed and then his fur bristled as he heard pawsteps that was coming towards them!<br /> <br /> Judging by the sound of the pawsteps, Anastasia guessed that it was a female. If she was right, there was a male and a female- hopefully wanderers too.<br /> <br /> "Get back!" Blade growled sharply as he crouched into a defensive position. <br /> <br /> "What do you think you're doing?! There's two of them! You possibly can't take them on both! Hide!" Anastasia cried shrilly. The silver he-wolf ignored her and just waited.<br /> <br /> Anastasia let out a deep sigh as she crouched stealthily behind the bushes, waiting to lunge if necessary.<br /> <br /> <i> Stupid stubborn he-wolf! </i>

Kalona heard rustling noises and snarled at Lacey. "Run!"<br /> <br /> Lacey ran, frightened by Kalona, towards the direction of the other wolves. She didn't know it, she just ran blindly, hoping to far enough from Kalona before he blew up.<br /> <br /> Kalona growled loudly as Lacey ran the wrong way and chased after her, hoping to catch her before the other wolves could.<br /> <br /> Lacey ran faster and faster, not looking back, and stopped as she heard the sound of snow crunching beneath feet. She stared out into the forest looking hard for any wolves.

Anastasia growled lowly and sniffed some more, her nose now sweeping swiftly among the ground.<br /> <br /> "There's more than one," The white femme said quietly to herself, occasionally glancing with squinted eyes. <br /> <br /> "How many do you think?" Blade asked. This was probably the only time he actually either wasn't mocking the she-wolf or giving off sarcasm.<br /> <br /> "Hmm...I think..." The fae sniffed some more then snorted.<br /> <br /> "Two. At least."<br /> <br /> "At least?" Blade asked, his eyes narrowing as his fur bristled and calmed in patterns.<br /> <br /> "Yes, can't you hear?" Anastasia asked sarcastically, without looking at the brute. Before he could actually retort, the femme swiftly wandered towards the scent. Her muscles were tense and the smell became more stronger.<br /> <br /> The she-wolf thought she heard a low growl but she didn't respond and instead shrank lower and slipped into a cluster of dead bushes. One good thing was that her pelt was the same color as snow, so during winter it was easy to camouflage but during summer...the sun would give her off like a new sparkling gem. That always ticked her off.<br /> <br /> Blade stood and stared where Anastasia had disappeared.<br /> <br /> <i> She just wants to get killed doesn't she? </i> Blade thought with a dark mood. The brute wanted to follow but he wanted the others safe- a very weird feeling for him.<br /> <br /> "Accilia, go get Samurai and Tasha and go inside the den. Babydoll and I will scout out first," He said, turning to look Accilia straight in the eye. His tone was serious and firm yet gentle. The male's eyes gave off a hard glint.<br /> <br /> Before anyone could interject, he had trotted off towards Anastasia. He hoped the she-wolf hadn't gotten killed already. Without her who else would he have heated fights with?

Kalona looked around the forest cautiously, trying to keep Lacey from harm. As he was looking, he smelled new scents. He automatically stood up and the fur on his neck started to raise and he emitted a low growl.<br /> <br /> Lacey jumped up as Kalona was growling. "What's the matter?" She asked scared. The only time he ever acted like this was when there was danger nearby.<br /> <br /> "Stay low, stay quiet, and don't move a muscle." He muttered. There was no way he was going to risk his sister being hurt if he had to fight. He finally answered her as he saw fear and confusion in her eyes. "I smell other wolves." He told her, his eyes darting around,searching for them.<br /> <br /> Lacey looked around, trying to find a spot to hide, because she knew her brother would never let her fight. If he was in trouble though, it was a different story. That was the only time she'd ever ignore him. She couldn't lose her brother. He was her family, and family came with many costs. She hunkered down low near a boulder, hoping her fur would blend in with it.

<br /> <br /> Anastasia trotted back over to Accilia and nudged her. The fae seemed angry towards the silver he-wolf and Anastasia knew why. The knowing only made her heart feel warm that she had such a wonderful and caring friend.<br /> <br /> "Don't worry Accilia, he was gentle. Tugging at a leg is like pup's play!" She giggled sitting down besides the other femme, her hazel eyes towards Blade.<br /> <br /> Blade flicked his tail in mild triumph and he felt his heart lighten a little. Did he really just make the feisty Anastasia surrender so easily? He felt suspicion but he dismissed it.<br /> <br /> <i> She just may act all fiery because she doesn't know how to fight well, </i> The brute thought to himself. He let the humor slightly touch at him but then he remembered how hard she had rammed into him. The female had gotten enough to power to knock down a male, that was saying something!<br /> <br /> "Ok guys, unless you want to be creamed, I'm not playing that game anymore. Besides, I only play with experienced ones," He mocked with a slight twinkle in his brown eyes. <br /> <br /> Anastasia let out a deep throaty growl as she smirked.<br /> <br /> "Ha! Please, you really don't want to see me when I'm totally ticked off!" She laughed, giving him a hard stare. Blade had a feeling that she was right but he didn't show his emotions and with a bored expression, he shrugged.<br /> <br /> "Do you smell that?" Anastasia asked all of a sudden, her nose shooting in the air. Her attention went completely off of mocking Blade and her hazel eyes narrowed.<br /> <br /> "What are you talking abou-" Then the unfamiliar scent hit him. Blade sniffed some more and let out a growl. There were strangers nearby.

Lacey ears perked up and she ran in front of Kalona to make him stop. "I think I hear something." She told him looking around.<br /> <br /> Kalona rolled his eyes and walked around her. "It was probably a squirrel or something. Let's keep moving." He told her walking away.<br /> <br /> Lacey plopped onto the ground and sat there looking at the trees and plants acting like she was curious.<br /> <br /> Kalona looked back and walked towards Lacey. "Fine what is it?" He asked hardly amused.<br /> <br /> "I don't know." She replied. "But I did hear something."<br /> <br /> Kalona rolled his eyes at her again "Okay how about we rest for a bit then?" He asked laying down.<br /> <br /> "Okay." Lacey replied, lying down as well.

Kalona walked quickly trying to find a small den, cave, or something to rest under for the night. He already found something for him and Lacey to eat, he just needed to get them some shelter. "The wonderful perks of being a loner." He sarcastically muttered.<br /> <br /> Lacey was practically running to try and keep up with Kalona. "Hey slow down will you?" She called out after him. She ran alongside him and overheard him muttering. "Well I don't think it's that bad." She told him.<br /> <br /> Kalona looked at her and continued moving. He was now moving at a trotting pace. <b>Why did he ever agree to letting her tag along after their parents died? The pack had more than enough sitters and pups for her to play with, but no. She had to come along with me.</b> He thought. He quickly sped up making Lacey run faster, hoping they could find shelter before the sun went down.<br /> <br /> Lacey sped up as well, running now, to keep up with Kalona.
