Kyro knew he had no choice. He had come too far and worked too long (almost a whole year) to let Raina down. He buried the butterfly bag in the foliage and walked up to the mouth of the den. "Show yourself!" Kyro yelled into the den. The female dire wolf appeared, and in a scraggy, medium pitched voice, replied "You are no match for me" Kyro, who was well aware of her strength, thought a moment before jumping at her, claws extended. He had caught her by surprise, and was able to scratch a gash in her left shoulder. She howled, then charged at Kyro and sank her teeth into his right front leg. He grimaced, and layed down on the ground. He had a plan. "You weakling!" She roared, and stood over him. The she-wolf lowered her head and bit Kyro on the same leg she had before. It was then his move. He struck at the Dire wolf's unprotected neck and cut her windpipe. The fight was over, and Kyro had won.

After they had eaten, Blue curled around the pups and went to sleep for a short while until Kyro got back.

As he weaved in and out of trees, Kyro strained his eyes to see if the Dire wolf was still in there. She was a fierce one, and Kyro, even though he was as tall as her at 4', was shaky on who would win a fight. When he got as close as he could, he peered into the den and jumped back, right into the foliage. His worst nightmare had come true; the female Dire wolf was in the den ... with pups.

Blue dropped the food into the den and herded the pups inside. "Eat, then we can rest." Blue murmured. Aspen, Fallon, and Shade nodded agreement, and Fallon yawned.

When Kyro reached shore, he dropped the butterfly bag to the ground and shook off. He then picked it up and stared intently through the foliage in front of him until he made out what he wanted to see; the Dire wolf's den.

The puppies yipped excitedly and jumped around, clearly eager to go. Blue led them out of the den and towards her usual hunting spot. "Stay here." she murmured as she pushed the pups into a small bush covered in berries. "Don't move." she ordered. Padding off, she quickly caught a rabbit and two birds. Walking back, she puppies leaped out and yipped happily. "That was so cool!" they gasped. Shade puffed out his chest. "One day, I'll be as good as Kyro." he boasted. Blue nuzzled him. "I'm sure you will." she murmured, and took them back to the den.

Shortly after Kyro crossed to the other side of the river, he ran into trouble. 2 wolves stood eating a freshly killed deer in his path. They turn to face him, mouths matted with blood. "Look what we've got here" The scrawny one said. Kyro wasn't going to put up with this. He dashed right and jumped into the river, stunning the wolves. Kyro then rode the swift current for a few miles before padding to shore.

Soon the puppies woke up, and they began asking where Kyro went. "Kyro had to go somewhere. He'll be back tonight." Blue soothed. She changed the topic. "Do you want to come watch while I hunt?" she asked the puppies.

Kyro ate both, and then kissed Blue on the cheek. "Thanks. I'll be back later, i promise" And with that he began his trip by walking to the edge of the river. From there he followed it north for about 3 hours until he came to the fallen tree that reached across 3/4 of the river. He climbed up onto it and used it as a bridge, jumping the small gap at the end.

"Stay here. I'll go get you something before they wake up. I'll catch something for us later." she ran off, and after a few minutes, she came back with a rabbit and a bird. "Take both, so you have enough until the afternoon." she said.
