Leash Laws
How do you feel about them? Do you think they're silly? Do you think it's for the safety of other people and pets? Please explain.

Well... no point in updating my post. You said it perfectly. :)<br /> <br /> There is a huge problem with leash laws where I live. People constantly let their dogs run loose because "THEY ARE SO WELL BEHAVED!" Until they run up to that leashed dog who IS a biter. Yet they have the nerve to blame the leashed dog.
I think they are very beneficial to the well-being of pets. If only everyone followed them.. as we all know, not every dog is okay with every other dog - there seems to be an especially high incidence of "oh he loves everyone!" dogs who are allowed off leash, that run up to dogs on lead who are potentially either dog aggressive or leash/boundary aggressive. Sure, YOUR dog might be just fine with other people and dogs, but the people and dogs yours is bound to come barreling towards in glee, may well have a mouth full of teeth or can of mace ready to send him running. :/
