Tlkn 'Ike di$ ( is "text talk" okay? )

As our society grows, and new generations learn and use media more and more often for more tasks, "text talk", in which people take short cuts for words is being used more and more often. Proper grammar is becoming used less often for texting, emailing, social networking, ect. As a fellow teenager who finds herself tiring of having to ask about what words people growingly make up to communicate via technology, I am interested to know how fellow users feel about the growing absence of proper grammar/English within our technology.

Text talk is the reason a lot of people don't remember what 'vowels' are.
I hate text talk. It drives me crazy. Then again, I'm a huge grammar/English nerd :P

When it comes to texting, the only abbreviation I use is "lol", and I only use it rarely.
I think it's more work to "tlk lke di$" and that all that work should be put into "talking like this".

I hate text talk. I can't read it most of the time. I'm okay with "lol" but that's about it.
