Summer or Winter?
The great seasons debate: Summer versus Winter Edition!
You must State Your Reasons! The purpose of a debate is to convince a neutral bystander that your side is better than the other side for a logical and coherent reason. No appeals to emotion! No fallacies or circular arguments (which is actually a fallacy but I've got a tempo going here)
Convince our bystanders! The warm and sunny days of BBQ and lemonade or the crisp and snowy times spent huddled with your hot cocoa on the other side of the year?
Make me proud!

SUMMER! I live in an area of the US where winters get so cold, you'll get frostbite within seconds of stepping outside. It's been -40 degrees F before. Way too cold. And because I go to college, I have to walk outside to get to my next class. It's nasty.

I vote for flip-flops, tanning, sunglasses, swimsuits, beach volleyball, and laying around in the sun!

Or I cast my vote for Autumn, but only because that's when my birthday is. :P

And no to Spring! After all that nasty snow melts, it leaves mud everywhere, and when you walk, your shoes squish squash in it. ><

Swimming is a good point, Tigress... Since I never swim, that didn't occur to me >.< I do love to swim... But I'm afraid that since there are indoor pools in various establishments, I'm going to have to stick with winter for now. Also, the fact that it was 86 today, I sweated my way through two hours at the shelter, and I'm getting a farmer's tan steer me towards winter as well. Haha...

Summer!
I have a pool in my backyard, and it's sad to see it sitting there without getting used all winter. And plus summer break is awesome! Winter is too cold.

I would love winter if it didn't rain the majority of the time here, and I'd love summer here if it weren't too hot.

I want to do everything with my dogs, can't very well do that in the rain, or risk heat exhaustion.

ooo I didn't know Spring was an option... But nah, I think I'll still stick with winter for the aforementioned reasons ^.^

Spring!
Summer is to hot, Winter can be to cold (lost my cold tolerance). So SPRING!

Everything is starting to grow! New Life!
Rain showers(if we're lucky)
Temperatures are JUST RIGHT!

Best. Debate topic. Ever.

Winter! Winter is my favorite season.

♥You can make all sorts of yummy foods that are too hot/heavy/thick for summer. Hearty stew, spicy chili, warm soup... These foods in summer only make you sweat more, but in winter they warm you to the core and make you feel all cozy.
♥You can drink hot cocoa and coffee and tea without feeling like your insides are an oven.
♥Snow is prettier than rain, and it's less gross - it layers the ground in a fluffy white blanket, whereas rain just soaks into everything and makes muddy puddles.
♥In winter you can wear hoodies and hats without people looking at you like you're crazy.
♥Sure, summer has the beach, but the beach also has sand and bugs, and sunburn. o.o
♥You can do outside stuff in the winter without breaking out into a drenching sweat (winter is especially nice for volunteering at the animal shelter - if you get cold, hug a fluffy dog!)
♥And last but not least, my favorite reason: You can always put more clothes on to get warm, but there's only so much you can take off before it gets creepy and/or illegal.
I prefer winter, because:
- I don't have to worry about a forest fire taking out my home, pets, and belongings (I have the means to stop a little house fire, but a big raging forest fire? No way.)
- I can choose whatever temp I wanna be in; if it gets too hot, open the window, if it gets too cold, put another log on the fire
- the bears are generally asleep, so I can worry less about going for a walk
- snowball fights
- snow angels
- snow melts, so it's not that bad if it gets in your eye/ear/mouth/underwear XD
- lots of celebrations and family get-together things
- for my family, lots of winter birthdays XD
- fishing without the mosquitoes + fish caught tend to have less parasites (in my experience) :P
- can use the oven to cook food you can't in the summer (in the summer, it heats up the house too much! D=)
- you can build things out of snow, likes giant lizards and cozy ice caves >:D
- in the winter, being active keeps you warm; in the summer, being active makes you really hot...or at the very least, it does for me e__e;
- you can so slip&sliding on the ice on pavement/puddles
- my horses get fuzzy and soft and are nice to hug <3
+ other things I'm too loopy to recall. lol xD
