The Shiba Inu Will Dominate!

Shiba Inus
Shiba Inu are a primitive breed originating in Japan. They are so cherished and popular as household companions that they are one of the national treasures of their native country. They were originally bred to hunt small game in the red brushwoods; hence their name "Brushwood Dog," and the gorgeous red coat that is so common in this breed. The other two AKC recognized colors are Black and Tan and Red Sesame. All three colors must have Urajiro, or white markings, usually on the paws, vent, face, chest, and underside. Another color, Cream, is also popular but no longer recognized as show quality by all of the major dog kennel clubs. But besides their cute foxy looks, this breed is known for speed. They even have a name for the constant racing around the yard that they love to do: "The Shiba 500."
