Bone shop: marking earaser, darkener and swapper
I think, as a normal "bone shop item" and
not a monthly item a marking eraser, swapper and darkener would be great!
All these items would be permanently in the bone shop!
The target audience is
not custom pups but regular breeders breeding from
non custom dogs, so don't worry about someone messing up somebody else's design!
These items would not cut into the custom dog sales as they get expensive. If you bought one of each, it would cost almost as much as a custom! Anyone wanting a lot of changes done to a dog would just go buy a custom instead as it's cheaper. However, people wanting to do minor changes to their dogs will love these items.
--- How The Items Work---
For 2 bones the marking eraser would reduce a single marking on one dog to zero. It would disappear after use. The marking eraser would be great for unwanted or bizarre duplicate markings, such as
this pup who has both black full AND white full
For 2 bones, the marking darkener will change any single marking on one dog to 100%. It would disappear after use. This would be great for the owner who really wishes that marking came in a little darker than it did. It also would be nice for breeders who like to specialize in a single marking as it would widen the available breeding pool.
For 3 bones, the marking swapper will allow you to change the order of your dog's markings. It would disappear after use. This would be great for when you like your dog's markings, but not the order they came in. Imagine being able to see those hidden markings! It would have a preview just like the customs would.

So, what do you think?

EDIT:
Genetics would still play a factor: this would
not add new markings. All it would do is help take some of the randomness out of the markings that you breed in by letting you control the percentages of a single marking or the marking layering.
Two bones might seem low, but it will add up fast. Also, people will go "Oh, only two bones!" and buy it with less hesitation leading to more sales. They will have spent the price of a custom in marking fixes before they even know it!
