Cheer Up Alacrity (layout)

I prefer Alacrity's default layout, while at the same time finding it strangely depressing. I've made threads about it before; this time I actually bothered to make a mockup.

And yes, I know Alacrity has several other layouts. I have trouble using all of them. This one is basically the same, just recolored to be brighter and much more cheerful.

The top is as it is, just for comparison purposes. Please ignore my cynical icon staring forlornly at the banner. I moved the logo to the left to take up the strange, eye-drawing bare spot, and didn't intentionally use an unmatching font; ms sans-serif kept wanting to crash my photoshop.

I am definitely not saying USE THIS LAYOUT, I'm just trying to throw out ideas for something much less dreary looking. It also looks much better at real size, but imageshack is being hateful and I have nowhere else to host.

That could be an alternative default I believe but besides that, my eyes prefer the darker colors better.

I would support it as an alternative default layout. I like the darker colors we have now (most brighter layouts hurt my eyes) so I probably wouldn't even use the new ('your') default but I get your point with suggesting something more cheerful :) ...and I wish we've had an other picture on top of the site. All those dogs in the same pose look a little weired to me.

Yeah, I meant it as an alt default, rather than a straight up replacement. Thanks for the support guys, I would have replied sooner but I can't see my notifications on mac's Safari browser.

If it could be an alt default i support but if it replaces the default totaly I wouldn't support, its nice looking but the brighter colors kinda hurt my eyes as most of the new layouts do...

I think it's wonderful, honestly. Alacrity could do with some more cheerful coloring. Support. :}
