WHAT IS A KOOIKERHONDJE?
Also known as a Kooiker Dog or Kooiker hound...or just plain "Kooiker" is a dutch duck tolling breed. The literal meaning of their name is "Small duck-decoy dog", or Kooi ( from de Kooi; meaning duck cage) Hond meaning dog, je referring to their size.
These are small dogs with feathery white and red/brown fur and a large, plumed tail. This is what helps them toll ducks. The curious ducks follow the feathery plume, and are led inside the de kooi. Some kooikerhondjes have the unique earring trait; feathered dark ear fur.
