Kony 2012 Have you heard ?

Okay , so this is my first time posting some thing in alacrity's forum or generally speak out on ala and I'm glad that it can be some thing constructive as this , i don't know if this is some thing you guys would be interested in but i know that the least i can do is raise awareness about this topic , i strongly recommend watching the video and what not linked at the Bottom to fully understand,Also my intention of this thread is just to raise awareness so go easy on me

First of all Kony is a man who abducts kids , 26 years he has been kidnapping kids into his rebel group the LRA and using the Girls as sex slaves and the boys into soldiers , he makes them kill there parents , There are 30,000 kids he have abducted into his group, this have made kony 1st on the worst criminal list for the ICC

"Over a period of nearly 30 years, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army has abducted children and forced the boys to kill their parents and turned the girls into sex slaves.

---
"The aim of Kony 2012 is to make the man famous, "not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice".

Film-maker Jason Russell says Kony is the "most wanted man in the world according to the ICC", and his documentary aims to put the name into every household's conversation.
Since going live yesterday, tens of thousands of Australians have signed onto the cause and with millions of views worldwide, the video has certainly grabbed The Internet's collective attention."

---
this comment made me open my eyes to what this kony 2012 thing could be

"The video is upfront about being an experiment in viral media — the directors are actively taking advantage of the fact that "there are more people on Facebook than there were on the planet 200 years ago" and that "humanity's greatest desire is to belong and connect." But the self-satisfied voice over and slick editing reminded me of the most obnoxious Kick starter-funded documentaries I've been asked to support. Is that truly a reason not to get behind a worthy cause? Not really."

So the real meaning of this thread is to know what you think about all this hubbub , cause i know that im confused inbetween what every body is saying about this topic

So what do you think about this
do you think its fake
do you think this is just for the money
Or
do you think this is an amazing way to raise awareness about this guy
Do you think this is one step closer to making a change in this world

Tell Me I Want to know :)

Yeah, definitely. I supported it when I saw it but after reading the criticism on it, I'm kinda like.. "is donating to this really a good thing?"<br /> Aside from the fact that Joseph Kony hasn't been in Uganda for years and Invisible Children still thinks he is/wants money to go there... what will buying posters and bracelets in Canada do to stop him?<br /> <br /> People point fingers at Africa or Thailand when you say "child prostitution" when it's an epidemic in the United States.<br /> Though I don't think anything Joseph Kony is doing is correct or okay, I think we need to familiarize ourselves with what atrocious acts are happening in our own country before pointing fingers at another country for doing the same.<br /> <br /> Kids here are shooting each other, stabbing each other, pulling off school shootings and being forced into the sex trade every day, but nobody ever thinks twice about that sort of s.hit happening in the Good Ol' US of A.<br /> <br /> <a href=http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/us/2011/May/FBI-Child-Sex-Trafficking-at-Epidemic-Levels-/ rel=nofollow>http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/us/2011/May/FBI-Child-Sex-Trafficking-at-Epidemic-Levels-/</a><br /> <a href=http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/apr/23/sex-trafficking-us-called-epidemic/?page=all rel=nofollow>http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/apr/23/sex-trafficking-us-called-epidemic/?page=all</a>
I have to agree with Clayton.<br /> <br /> There was a post on 9gag that said<br /> <br /> "Oh, a 13 year old girl just shared my video, I'm going to stop kidnapping kids now."<br /> I feel like a lot of people are believing that anything posted on facebook is true.<br /> <br /> It's getting to the point where people are posting images of that guy from a movie and everyone immediately goes "OMG That's KONY! How dare you post pictures of him on facebook!" And then you're like, "uh no its not, and what do you know about Kony."<br /> <br /> I, myself, am actually staying off the topic of Kony because I don't knwo too much nor do I want to. Call it ignorance, I don't care. But there other things that I care about and I'm not going to jump the bandwagon because everyone else is blindly fighting for something.
HEh, this is my thought on the whole thing<br /> <br /> http://thedailywh.at/2012/03/07/on-kony-2012-2/
