BAD Periods. What would be the best option for me?

Okay so ever since I got my periods, they have been more painful than "normal" periods. I mean, today for example, I woke up in tears because the pain was so unbearable. I tried to walk out the house but I got as far as the corner and had to walk back home. It seems as though taking painkillers won't help at all, so my question is, what can I do to help me? If any of you have any ideas please share them. I don't know if I can take anymore of this pain. Thanks.

Hun, I used to be the same way. Ask about birth control pills. When I started mine, they put me on a low dose, but I still had bad cramps. They switched me to a higher dose and its like heaven!
Oh my gosh, I feel the same way. Like today, my cramps are terrible. I'm doubling up in pain, and I don't want to tell my parents. Plus, if I was on birth control and they found out, they would think I'm sexually active, and I'm not, I told them I'll wait until marriage. So basically, I have to suffer because my parents don't trust me on the topic, and they really don't believe I have these pains, even though I get flu-like symptoms every time I have it.
You should definitely see a doctor, but I wound up having to take a light dose of codeine and now I take that once a day plus heating pad for the length of the period. For work I bring those icy hot packs. I have a friend who has almost blacked out from hers though, and she's on much stronger pain meds plus birth control. She says it really helps her. But honestly, I would go to a doctor and see what they recommend.
Well, I used to be on the shot but then I got off of it because I noticed my body got more fragile. Period still hasn't come back yet, but probably because it needs to get back in the rhythm again. But yeah, I would talk to your doctor. They may be more help to you provided they have the medical knowledge :)
Im personally on the Depro Shot and I think its awesome. Works great for me and you only have to worry about it every 3 months. But as everyone else said, go to a doctor and talk about your options. :)
You should really go see a doctor instead of asking on here ^^;. A doctor would be much better at deciding what would be best for you and letting you know what sort of options there are for you to take. =)
I get the worst cramps too. I used to stay home from school. Sometimes the pain in a way would make me freeze up with the most tortured look.Your uturus is in a way tearig it's self apart the walls that is. Exercise can really make a difference when I did track it was lighter and more bearable than when I wasn't in track. But some women don't have much spear time to exercise so another thing is to get a hot water bottle or if you dont have one an old sock and fill it with rice, knot the end of course and put it in the microwave till it is hot enough for you and apply to the portion of your abdomen or torso where you may experience cramps.

As always a hot bath will help, and some times it just feels nice.

Sometimes I stretch my abdmon and torso by doing bridges or laying down prone and pushing up with my arms and leaving my hips on the floor.

That's just what I do, although birth control isn't a bad option I just never wanted to take it because the possibly side effects didn't seem worth it to me even though it wasn't likely to happen- but with my luck. I also take midol then two advils so yeah, probably not the smartest thing to do but makes it hurt less so it's worth it to me
Hyoscine butylbromide is a medicine that can be used to relieve abdominal cramps.

They are usually sold over the counter, you will have to check to see what brand it is marketed under where you live.

Ibuprofen can be taken at full recommended dose 2-3 days before the cycle begins in order to lessen cramps and pain by reducing the amount of hormones (prostaglandin) that is produced.

Please be aware that taking ibuprofen long term can raise your blood pressure, and therefore is not suitable for anyone with high blood pressure.

In terms of birth control it's best to speak with your doctor or nurse first. Typical options are usually the combined pill or progestogen only pill.
Soel, never heard of that shot, but thanks, I shall avoid it if I get offered it lol. Brutal, I am going back to the docs next week so we are going to see about getting me something to stop my periods. Birth control is the best thing at the moment for me I think.
I don't recommend the Depo shot AT ALL, from personal experience I have had a horrible reaction to it, and from others I have heard so many bad things about it. I would go to your doctor and get it checked out. Could be something more serious.
