Horrible Periods

I started my period when I was 13 or 14, the typical age to start a period (I honestly can't remember exactly how old I was when I first started but...yeah). Since that time, I've experienced some pretty bad periods. Mine last for between 5 to 7 to sometimes even 8 days long and the cramps sometimes can be so bad that I'm doubled over in severe pain and feel like puking. Not to mention I have such a heavy flow (I use size super in tampons (just makes me feel super, right? Eh....thinking not)). My mom says that endometriosis runs in her side of the family (one of my aunts has it I believe) and so do ovarian cysts.

It just makes me wonder if I have either of those things going on with me. Still need to go to the gyno for the first time to be examined and stuff. Should've went a long time ago when I first started having sex (back in........June of last year). My boyfriend and I have sex without there are children here!s and he pulls out right before his big moment (we're both serious about each other, kind of going through an odd phase right now but it works for us; we aren't dating but we love each other very deeply.....confusing, I know). We've talked about possibly having kids some day if we get married (which get married is looking very likely). I'm afraid I won't be able to have kids :( I was pretty certain some girls could get pregnant through the pre-cum and I heard there was a girl just fooling around with a guy, no penetration, still a virgin and ended up getting pregnant from his pre-cum. *sigh* Just nervous, worried and scared all at the same time.

Anyone mind cooling down my nerves a little bit? And maybe telling me I'm not the only one in a situation like this? Thank's so dearly to anyone who helps me out :)

Birth Control worked for me. i have horrid periods. and with the birth control it levels it out alot. and yes please use protection. pull out is not failsafe. if your going to have sex do it safely.
You really need to see an OBGYN, and request an abdominal ultrasound to see if you have ovarian cysts. If you have either that or endo, doctors can do things to lessen your flow and your pain. It'd also be good to find out early in case you'll need surgery, it's necessary sometimes to remove excess tissue from endo.<br /> <br /> Be aware that if you have either of these problems, you could also be barren, or could become so if you wait too long to do anything about it. :(<br /> <br /> And please please please use (ugh filters) c o n d o m s. You can get them free from planned parenthood and they're not nearly as annoying as a lot of people make them out to be. Dealing with a piece of latex is a lot better than dealing with an unexpected baby.
Haha! That's exactly what the gyno told me! X) Sounds fun. At least it won't be a lot of blood though :)
Yeah what it basically does is pretending you are already pregnant. Usually, the first few months it can happen you start bleeding at weird times until the body is used to it. So better pack your hygiene products :)
Wow :( I'm so sorry. That's horrible. And I thought mine were bad.....mine seem like they're nothing compared to that. But yes, I went in and was checked out. I was given some birth control. Which I have to start when I start my period next since I haven't used birth control before. I guess that's just how they work. Haha.
Try several months long, and bleeding so badly I can't be away from a toilet for more than 10 min and have spent whole nights on the potty. <br /> <br /> It got a bit better but now it is on and off for weeks. I'm in menopause and everything's messed up... *sigh* <br /> <br /> When I was a teenager, I had pretty bad cramps, too, not anymore good thing. There are some teas and stuff to help with it, but yeah you should get a check up. Maybe it is just that your hormone levels are way off, and if you don't have any clotting issues (like me ) then you will probably be put on the pill to regulate blood flow.
Perhaps so. Hopefully I get some when I go to the gyno. Probably should. Haha :)
ahh yeah i get ya<br /> maybe birth control will help
Wow! D: My mom had to get a hysterectomy too. A partial one anyways. Because of an ovarian cyst the size of a newborn baby's head. There's all sorts of things that run on my mom's side of the family: endomitriosis, cysts, and other things I have yet to know I'm sure. <br /> I don't want to get a hysterectomy unless it's life saving (like in your mom and in my mom's case). When I'm a lot older and have made a solid plan for my life, I want to probably include kids in that. I'm not saying I know what I want; I have yet to know what I really want. My periods are horrendous though (compared to most women in my family and that I know of anyways). I'm going into the gyno soon to have things checked out.
My dad told me that my mom used to get HORRIBLE cramps. She would bleed so much she would have to go to the hospital.<br /> She got a hysterectomy and it helped.
