"You need to start training your bladder!"
Started By
Alright,I've been hearing the above statement from my
Math teacher many times lately. At my school we have only 3 minutes to go to the restroom, get in our locker, and get from class to class. I belive that this is compleatly unfair for quite a few reasons. 1) I'm no doctor, nor will I claim to have any sufficent medical/anitomical knowledge but I'm posative you can't "train" your bladder. 2) We arn't allowed to use the restroom during class at all,no acceptions. 3) If we are late to class,we will be written up. (An after school detention and a major infraction which means we won't be allowed to go on the end of the year school trip.) if we are late to class more than 3 times we get ISS (In School Suspension.)

What do you think alacrity? Is this school rule right? Can you "train your bladder?" How can I convince my school to change this?

I agree, everyone. I'll try to get my friends to help me with over throwing this rule. (Not trying to sound all kiddish. XD) Thank you for this support. I think I'll do a bit more digging, write an artical, and adress this directly with the board.

Usually teachers are understanding when you have a reason when you arrive late.

I understand not leaving class but if you are late because of the bathroom, you should get a pass or something!

I know you can't "train your bladder" but you can always empty it before/after school, lunch etc.

I don't know how large your school is, but if you could get half the kids to form a protest with you, they might listen.

Suing just would take from the other students that go to that school. If the school has little money, sports and other things get taken away or you have to pay for them ^^;. My school is currently being sued and had made national news a year or two ago. I no longer go there (graduated) but it would be unfortunate to ruin it for the students that still go there.

I hope the first girl who gets TSS from having to keep her tampon in all day sues them blind.

Sounds bogus, especially the no bathroom breaks during class. Maybe you should get together with other students, get yall's parent's on board and take it to the school board.

Yes,I agree we should be punished to some extent. But I don't agree to the severity of the punishment given the time restraint we have. I would understand a minor infraction or lunch detention but not what they give us. You drinking point is good too. They should allow a little extra time in considerance for the ladies given that bathrooms are crowded atop some other matters... Point is I'm not trying to sound like I'm two or anything but it just isn't right and that's how I feel.

First off, if you are late to class, yes you should get in trouble.

For females it is VERY VERY difficult to get to a bathroom, pee, and still get to class. Also our bathrooms are usually a lot more crowded than a boys bathroom. Boys are the ones ones it seems that can do their business in the 3min between classes. Not to mention, if your classroom isn't by a restroom or it's out of the way.

THIS RULE IS BOGUS!

I don't know how many times I've heard of this being complained about by students. If you have to go, you need to go! It is a natural function and they need to accommodate that. If I were still in school and a teacher said I couldn't go, I'd walk out of the classroom and go. One story I heard was that a kid went in a garbage can because a teacher wouldn't let them leave (not at my school but a different one).

*Holding it in isn't healthy!

Another point, is they say you need to drink a certain amount of amount of ounces based on weight. This is not possible to do in school because of how teachers aren't understanding. I used to drink 5 bottles of 16.9 fl oz bottles every day in summer and had to stop when school started.

I just don't understand why they are so ridiculous. I can understand not leaving in the middle of a test but allow students to go before hand? Goodness *shakes head*
