The owning of low TP dogs.
Started By
It has occured to me that many people see no value in low tp dogs. But,I love the little buggers like any other dog. I think they are beautiful. Some think they are worthless because they can't be trial dogs on there own,but I think they can be trialed very efficently if in teams! Plus, most of the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen have low TP. What do you think? Are they of any value? I have a rescue just for low tp dogs, and think I've rescued some of the most beautiful dogs on ala,but to you, does beauty have any worth?

As a new player I brought/adopted a few lower TP dogs, so their is value in them from that aspect :) But I also wanted a high TP pup for a longer-term training project. Appearance is probably the foremost thing I look at, followed by TP, but I wouldn\'t write off a pretty looking dog just because of low TP.

My goal is to breed Pretty dogs with higher TP than their parents. I will not breed unmaxed dogs or stud my males out to bitches who are not maxed, I don't care what the Bitch's TP is as long as she is maxed. The pups i keep though from my breedings must be good looking tough. And i look at the looks of a dog im buying after finding dogs with in the TP range I'm looking for.

The beauty of this site is that there are different aspects of breeding and dog owning for everyone. Some breed for high tp and not beauty, some breed for beauty without regard for tp, and some breed for whatever they're in the mood to breed (I'm in the last group... Haha). I love my high tp monsters, but I love my lower tp dogs as well. In fact, one of my favorite dogs is a 0.00 tp half-invisible husky I got from the pound. While it's true that low tp dogs are harder to trial effectively, and that the goal of the site is to breed good trial dogs, I don't think it should matter what the rest of us think - if you like you low tp dogs, great! Enjoy them! :D
