Yall may have noticed the fundraiser on the sidebar! We're hosting a fundraiser with 31 Gifts to not only earn money for the site, but so you have a chance to earn bones and buy Christmas presents for yourself or friends or family as well! For each purchase you will earn two bones per dollar on the price of the item before shipping/handling and taxes. The long-awaited, and seemingly controversial item, Timestop, has finally been released and is available in the Monthly Shop right now! It is also available in the Riddler game, and random events will be set up to help those that can't afford the shop prices, and in the monthly shop as an upgrade item as well this month.
I know some of you are panicking because you have tons of dogs in your kennels that you've been placing in auction in order to freeze. Please understand that this has always been an abuse of the intended use of the system, and that I have been lenient in enforcing any rules against it up until this point. Those of you with dogs frozen in auctions will have two weeks to remove them from auction and either collect Timestops to place on them, sell dogs if needed in order to downsize your kennel dogs to a more manageable number, or whatever will help you to prepare for the full-swing of this change. If any dogs are found to be frozen in any way besides Timestop, which constitutes as cheating or abusing the system, the owner will be fined $500 per dog per day, so please make sure you use these two weeks well!
Now, I want to discuss the benefits of this item! For one, the auction pages will no longer be cluttered with frozen dogs, so that people looking for dogs for sale will be able to find them easily. This will also force users to be more careful about the number of dogs in their kennels, and will help cut down on mass-breeding, due to the restrictions that come along with Timestop, as well as kennel space that now must be utilized rather than bypassed by keeping dogs beneath 2 months old. This will have a positive domino effect. The less litters that are thrown, the higher the demand for pups, and the better the economy will be as a result. This is also better for you, because you will be under less pressure to push down the cost of your dogs to what, in many instances, are unfair prices. Basically, your dollar will be worth much more than it's worth right now because of over-breeding and overpopulation of too many pups at once. While there is no rule against how many dogs you can own on Alacrity, it is good to consider how many dogs you are willing to handle and can afford to handle in your kennel, for the purposes you want the dogs for. Downsizing a bit will help you and all of the other users of the site, by bringing up the value of your dogs, because of the benefits tied to Timestop and no longer tolerating abuse of the system. I personally look forward to prices and demand for Corgis, JRTs, and Pappies skyrocketing!
