What better way to get into the holiday spirit than by bringing bunches of people to Alacrity? :D
This season, we'd like you guys to try your hardest to spread the joy of Ala to your friends! Two awesome contests have been lined up for you guys, and both of them have prizes of bones.
Video Contest
The first contest is the video contest outlined in the news post a few posts below this one. The rules are relined here for your convenience.
"After you submit your entry, it will be the property of Alacrity, and you will not be allowed to use it for anything else. Because of this, you are allowed to use anything on Alacrity that you need for this video. Images, text, anything.
I know, I know, it's all very exciting. But what you're looking forward to are the prizes! You won't be disappointed! First prize will be a free Alacrity t-shirt and $40 USD (please make sure you have a valid paypal account). Second prize is 30 bones, and third prize is 20 bones!
Please get your entries in by January 1st, and judging will be over soon after that!
I liked about not having rules. :c Here they are!
1. No swearing.
2. No going over a minute and a half.
3. You may team up, but then you need to split the prize.
4. No bashing other websites. You may compare, but you may NOT bash them.
5. When you are finished, upload the videos to youtube and then message the link to Aadyn (#3)."
Referral Contest
The second contest is a referral contest! Those of you that were here for the last contest of this sort should remember exactly how it goes. Score page is
located here.
You post your referral link to others, and get them to join Alacrity! The more people you get to join, the more referral points you get.
Please remember that any referral points you earned previous to this contest will not be counted. You are starting totally clean with points, making sure that everyone has a fair chance. Also, you may not cheat by making many accounts by yourself to get yourself points. These all must be on separate IPs, and must be from other people.
This contest will finish at the same time as the video contest, so be sure to get as many people interested in the site as possible in this amount of time.
The prizes for this contest are: 50 bones to first place, 30 to second, and 15 for third.
Have fun with the contests guys, and thanks for supporting Alacrity!
New Issues Panel
We now have a new "issues" panel where ALL moderator issues, newbie helper questions, and bugs must be submitted.
We ask for the sake of all you re-submit your bugs to the new bug panel and DON'T submit if you see the bug there already. Please submit bugs as public so the rest of the user base can check if their bug exists already.
From now on all mod activities/issues will go through here, do NOT message mods for help personally or ask in chat. Submit an issue. This way all responses are documented and we can monitor mod work and also help you players best. <3
Also, the newbie helper panel is for newbie helpers to answer questions!! An alert has been added to the top of all pages if a player is less than 10 days old (playing time) to submit a question there and have someone answer right away. Again, newbie helpers are monitored on activity, let's help everyone out and keep people from being confused. :D
There's also an admin panel that only mods can move issues to if they cannot handle an issue.
The point of this new panel is to, a) have everything streamlined and in one area, to b) document staff responses to the player base, to c) monitor staff activity and monitor effectiveness and help train us to be our best, and to d) avoid messaging a certain mod who is online all the time versus mod "b" who isn't online as much and therefore isn't contacted as much and therefore doesn't help that much though it isn't there fault and therefore keep mod "A" from being tired out and punished for being more active than mod "B". Yay for run on sentences. Lots of work put into these amazing panels by Kitty (#1518) from Exhibited, hired because I was having real life issues. <3 The hub is located under "help alacrity" as "issue hub".
