The Ancient Howl

Dozens of domestic dogs around the world were lead to an enchanted cave by mysterious instinct. These dogs were big and small, dull and multicolored, friendly and shy, and dominant and submissive. Yet, despite their differences they all calmly circled around a sparkling pool in the center of the cave. Something unexplainable whispered to every single one of them to start lapping up the glittering liquid they had surrounded. A brief trance took over these canines, but soon enough they were all fully conscious and aware of their current inner change and destiny. They had all been granted the ability to heal the wound of any creature they touch with their paw and howl.
The dogs soon departed out of the cave, but were somehow all united in the same old rundown town eventually. Some were still arriving, and some had lived there for about a year now. Either way, this town's humans desperately needed these dogs, despite the fact these humans should never know of these dogs' powers.
The humans were having a war, and many of the injured soldiers were brought here because they were too broke to afford any other place to stay. The dogs were meant to heal the humans, but if any human were to find out about these dogs' powers all magic would be in jeopardy. The dogs meet in alleys and parks occasionally to discuss strategies, but they must never let their guard down.

Will your dog succeed and fulfill its destiny?

Rain yawned and stretched her limbs. There was nothing else to say. Sitting there would of just been awkward, so she pretended there were itchy mats in her fur that she needed to untangle. She nibbled the silky fur on her back for as long as she could bear, and then moved to nibbling the fur on her right hip. Now she had stalled a good ten minutes. She did her whole stretching process again, and then again before exiting the cave to take a brief lap at the river. The water had nearly chilled her bones, but at least she was hydrated.
She wasn't feeling tired anymore, but she didn't feel it was right to disturb Benji. So, she just stood and stared at the river for no apparent reason.
Benji smirked at Rain as she barked. "I did when I was younger. I just... I... I can't really explain why I came here to live with them again. I was drawn here by something, I guess." he didn't really know what else to say. That was pretty much the only thing that brought him here. He just had a feeling that there was something good here. Something revolutionary. Benji stared at the river. He shivered and wished he hadn't moved away from Rain, though he was only a few feet away. He looked back at Rain and felt that feeling rise inside him again. It made him want to be sick and he wanted it to stop, mostly because it felt strange. He looked down but the feeling did not stop.
(Hehe, the cave is very small. The opposite side would only be about three feet away)

Rain laid down and put her head on her paws. She glanced at the ice cold river, raging just a yard or so from their cave. Looking back at Benji, she said, "My name is Rain, Benji. Simple, and natural. You're name isn't natural though, and that makes me come to the conclusion that you've lived with humans for a long while. What brought you here, alone?" she asked calmly.
A few bats began to swoop in front of the cave entrance, triggering Rain to bark a few times territorially. After a few moments the bats got the memo and flapped away into the high moonlight. Rain looked back at Benji, waiting for his response.
(Read them! I'm good! Yay!)
Benji didn't really know what to say. He was wide awake now, wondering what the heck that dream was about. "Sorry. I just had a really good dream." he said, standing up and shaking his coat out. He wondered why he did that all the time but it felt good, so he did it anyway. He walked to the opposite corner of the cave and laid on his side. He secretly hoped Rain would follow but he knew she wouldn't. She didn't even like sharing with him. He sighed and closed his eyes, waiting for sleep to come to him.
Benji's stare pierced through Rain so hard that it woke her up. She slowly blinked and looked up at Benji, making his smile. She growled softly for him to stop.
"What on earth are you doing?" she grunted and scowled. "I haven't found a good place to sleep in days, and now you plan on staring me awake all night?!?"
Rain stood up at Benji's level and continued to scowl at him. She was to not sleep until she was sure he would sleep, too. It was already obviously awkward for her to have to share a sleeping space with another dog. She secretly liked it, but she didn't want Benji to know that.
"Go to sleep, Benji. Don't make me chase you out." She yawned and shifted on her paws drowsily.
(It probably won't but I'll read them, just in case!)

Benji took a few laps of water before curling up beside Rain. He closed his eyes and had a dream. It was weird, but he liked it. He dreamed that he was with two humans, Rain was there too and on of the was hers. They were laying next to each other and suddenly, the scent of blood filled his nostrils. Rain nudged him to their humans and touched one, then started howling. Benji couldn't tell where the blood was coming from, but, on instinct, he did the same as Rain.
Benji woke with a jump. He smiled at himself for have such a silly dream, but for some reason, he felt it was a sign. This made him scared, but at the same time, it made his happy. He looked down at Rain and grinned harder.
(Hehe, that's okay. You might want to read the advanced forum rules though, since you just made an advanced RP. O_o I wouldn't want your forum to be moved to another folder! ^_^)

Rain kept running until they reached the bridge. She looked down at the river. There was a little slope and a tiny beach on each side of the river. She jumped off the slope and landed on the beach. The river was right in front of her, occasionally sploshing drops of water onto her paws. She turned around and faced a little cave built into the slope. No recent scent of animal life lingered inside, so she walked in and made herself at home in there. After woofing for Benji, since she knew he would freeze if he didn't join her, she turned around in a few circles before laying down. A content sigh escaped her as she stared out the mouth of the cave.
(Omg! I didn't know there was one! Wow, give a big hand to me everyone! :( Sorry if my posts are sucky. I feel like I have Strep throat and I'm really tired!)

Benji sniffed the air too. He didn't smell what Rain did, he didn't think, but by the way she ran... He couldn't help but stare. He quickly snapped out of it though, and ran aftre Rain, catching up to her about halfway there. "Why... Are... We... Running...?" he panted, tired already and his stomach too full. Benji felt the wind slap his face as he ran and he let his tongue loll out of his mouth. It didn't embarrass him one bit, but he noticed saliva flying off of the soft, pink tongue that, along with the wind, now slapped him in the face. He licked his nose and stuck his tongue back in his muzzle and kept running.
(I don't think your last post was long enough :/. It's hard to stretch out posts to reach the word limit, but I don't want you to get in trouble by a mod ^_^)

"My hero." Rain rolled her eyes and chuckled.
She was very hesitant about it, but eventually she grabbed the turkey's wing and gave a mighty pull, almost ripping the entire wing off. She licked the precious meat and nibbled on it slowly at first, but getting fast as she went. Before long, the wing was gone and the sky was a dark blue.
"Guessing you're denless,we both need to find a place to sleep tonight. We're nearly out of time to!"
Rain tilted her head up, as if she was about to howl. But, instead she merrily sniffed the air. A gentle but cold breeze ruffled her fur, sending her into a concerned trot towards the broken bridge.
"You better hurry up!" she called back to Benji before sprinting to the bridge.
Benji tried his best not to laugh but he smirked accidentally. He couldn't help but think, -That's what she gets for being so...so...- he didn't know how to explain it. He stood up and shook his fur. He loved doing that. "Are you okay?" he asked her, pushing his turkey towards Rain. "Here, when your ready, dig in." he said, his eyes oh-so-sympathetic towards Rain.
