Hi All!
Here's where you can talk about the suggestions you have for improving referral contests, our current referral system, and ideas for ways to get new members besides the other ways mentioned!

I vote for #1 & #5 I like the referral contest, I do understand if players are being referred then leaving the next day that can be annoying, but some can forget, or come back later in time. I have referred maybe at least 2 people who stayed on for a 160 days, the other maybe 1 - 60? Not quite sure, but also some people cannot buy bones and like earning them, some like doing contests, it can go both ways, but I do enjoy earning things, but I do also referring friends and family without a contest, so I am not sure.

The thing I don't like about referral contests is that people sign up and play for a day then just leave. I noticed during the contests there is a low amount of players that actually stay that were referred. I think maybe something should be changed to where they have to stick around for a certain amount of time to be awarded the point? I'm not sure. I'm going to think about this a little more. Not sure what I want to vote.

I voted 5. Though I do agree with Cat, I've seen it done on other sites and that bugged the fluff outta me! However I picked 5 because, well, contests can be hard. I don't get a lot of traffic with people who are looking for petsites x_o. So even with contests and big prizes, I tend to fail >.>. Although with the really awesome prizes I know I will fail xD.
But, if there isn't prizes aren't worth the time then it becomes a 'why bother' issue.

I do think perhaps there should be a split section. Perhaps with how many people some members have already referred -this way you separate those who get high traffic sign ups from the low traffic sign ups.

That was just an idea. I know there's no way to make it fair. Referrals are hard to come by >.>

I voted for #4
I don't think there should be a contest being held for referring people. Our fellow Alacrity members should want to refer their friends, family, & acquaintances because they believe Alacrity is a place that they'd love & enjoy just like the rest of us. Not because they want to win a contest in order to claim the prize.
I'd vote #3. I think we should change it so that users can't bribe people to join Alacrity through promise of site currency. I think that people should join because they want to play, not because they want to earn a little bit of offsite currency
