Updated monthly shop cash prices.
Due to the changing economy and bones now going for around 30k instead of 10k as when the monthly shop first came out, cash prices will be reflected to this adjustment.
The old formula was 10k per bone + 5k.
It will now be 30k per bone + 5k.
This adjustment takes place September 1st.
[EDIT: I'm willing to come down to 25k per bone for varying bone prices as suggested by you guys. ]
Lol I dunno, I think it would just make me hoard my $$ more. If you buy a t shirt for $20 normally and all of a sudden, the price goes way up to $60, that's not gonna make me save up $$ for that shirt, I'm gonna look at that shirt, say "that's too much for me" and save my $$.

Well, I guess it was about time for another change, huh? Unlike seemingly most users, I do think it's only fair given that 10-15k is just unthinkable anymore.<br /> <br /> However, I do worry that this will only encourage the growing inflation, and that we may see a future of bone prices just going up and up and up. I'm not sure where the 30k and 40k numbers came from, as I would never pay more than 25k for a bone. I think 20k would be better for us, as it would not encourage the insane inflation as much...but I can deal with 25k.<br /> <br /> Timestops changing to 125k will definitely hurt me though, and it will certainly affect how I spend my money. I can't be buying more dogs if I won't be able to afford to timestop them.

Because due to the rise in prices MORE money is being spent. Sure, a few people will go "OMG I REFUSE HOW COULD YOU", but it will encourage spending of -more- money, Carni.

<i>"Honestly, if we kept the equivalent to $10k, Bones would become more common and start to lose their value."</i><br>I don't understand how you came up with this conclusion. Assuming you're referring to people selling bones in shops for $10K.. bones are a 1-use item. They can be bought with USD or Ala $$. When you buy a bone [for $10K or $15K or $30K, doesn't matter], you are buying it for one of many reasons. Many users are after bones for customs and will still donate to the site to get bones, and will still buy bones off of other users. People will still sell them overpriced because that's just what people do, and I don't believe they will lose their value or become more common because the auction-value went down... just as I don't believe they will lose their value if someone buys 100$ worth on a triple-bone special and sells them all. People will always be after bones for one reason or another and they're not a limited-time item like wolves, you can buy them any time you like and as many as you like.<br>I don't see how raising the $$ price of monthly-shop items will cause bone-value to go down. The only reason why bone-price is so high is because shops were cleared out, people started over-pricing and because bone-sellers know that not everybody can donate to Ala. You think they're going to make their bones cheap because not everybody can donate USD to Alacrity? No, they're gonna wait for people like me to come around and spend their lots of hard-earned Ala $$ on the bones. If anything, people are going to increase the price of bones to fit the sky-rocketing Monthly Shop item prices because they know people are going to want to buy them.
I just have to say that whenever I've put a Bone up for auction, it sells for $25k. I think that's a pretty reasonable price. Bones are supposed to be more rare, and cash is supposed to be pretty common. I see where Rob is going with this.<br /> <br /> Honestly, if we kept the equivalent to $10k, Bones would become more common and start to lose their value. It would just be another type of currency like cash. Just because players charge an arm and leg for them doesn't meant they won't lose their value.
Because you, Rob, are supposed to keep inflation down, not support it.

Rob, players often way overcharge bones :P I think the reason why they're going for so high was because when shops were cleared out a while back, someone overpriced the first bones in and people based their prices off of that. There was never a low supply of bones and therefore, the prices were increased because of this.. it was just some selfish person wanting to jack the price up after the clearout and knew that people would jump at the opportunity to buy the only bones in user auctions.
I think 20-25k sounds fair, I mean it's going to happen regardless. I do however disagree with anything over that as it will already be hard as heck for someone like me playing all the games and saving. I have not seen bones being sold for more than 25k, 30k at most so I am a bit confused by the 40k, but I also do not actively go everywhere on the site so I just may have missed those. In short. I can agree with the prices going up, but maybe not that high. More of a meeting half way thing, but seeing as you've edited the message to say you'll go to 25k I guess I have nothing more to add. Thank you for at least telling us about this change rather than spring it up on us.

That's several new changes that I really don't like here, which I find makes me really start to dislike this site. By my calculations, I haven't made enough money in two months to buy what I want. I'm a regular user who liked this game. This really takes away from the experience in my mind. The monthly shop is difficult enough to get stuff from in my mind.<br /> <br /> But whatever. Your site, your changes. Not much I can do other than express my dislike.<br /> <br /> ~Ly
