Siberian Husky Albino Eyes
I noticed that the option to make the Siberian Husky's eyes "albino" made them white. If they were albino they would be red or pink, albinism is the lack of pigment, therefore the veins in the eye would be showing, making it appear red.

There is incredible variance in every pigmentation disorder that exists, good old fashioned albinism itself included. Covering all the bases regarding that would not be fun times, from an artistic standpoint. The albino eyes on the Alacrity dogs are pretty spot on, without doing a whole lot of variation, and the eyes of the dogs are always pretty small pixel-wise, to boot. Doing all the possible little variations just isn't practical and albino dogs or dogs with ocular albinism can have white eyes. There are just so, so many possibilities.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/177/440240389_96821a9448.jpg
Albino girl.

http://www.thetech.org/genetics/images/ask/blueEyedaa.jpg
Human ocular albinism + heterochromia.

http://paradoxoff.com/files/2010/11/real-albino-dog.jpg
Self-explanatory file name.

http://www.samoyedhealthfoundation.org/diseases/partial-albinism/albino%20male.jpg
Same as above.

Don't know if any of those pics have been posted but I don't feel like clicking them all atm, honestly. Ocular albinism in all animals is generally pink/blue or white/gold/hazel/green. Humans almost never get pink, though. Also, not all forms of true albinism are complete albinism. They can be a lack of one type of pigmenting, or pigmenting only in certain areas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albinism

I do know the difference between albino and leucistic. :P But I say again, I searched through tons of pictures, and the vast majority I saw had pale eyes, but not necessarily pink eyes. I have seen plenty pictures of dogs that are pure white, have pink skin (leucistic animals typically have dark skin no matter the whiteness of their fur), and still do not have pink eyes. I'm not saying it never happens, but it certainly doesn't seem to be the absolutely most common trait shared in albino dogs.
yes but Carni, those are leucistic dogs, not albino.

A lot of people think "albino" means "all white animal".. but animals are only albino if they are all white w/ pale skin and pink/red eyes. The "albino" animals people see with blue eyes are leucistic.

Albino Budgie on the left, leucistic Budgie on the right. They look the same, but their eyes are different.

EDITEDIT: Budgies CAN have different coloured eyes.. but none of these birds are albino, even though their eyes are pale.
[LINK]
[LINK]
[LINK]
[LINK]
[LINK]
I have looked up pictures of several albino canines, and their eyes always appear either extremely pale blue or white, rather than the pink you would expect. I promise there is method to my madness. X}

Yeah, I think they have purpley eyes too. Not sure if that's all albino animals though.

[LINK]
This cat has purpley eyes too.

& I found this kind of interesting: "The albino gene is fatal to horses, a pure albino is a result of lethal white genes from both parents and will always die in the womb. American Albino (also called American Cream & White) horses are pure white, but not actually albino genetically."

EDIT: and apparently this is an albino dog: [LINK]
Thank you Krentoh!(Sorry if I messed that up...)

That's what I thought. That albino cat does have red pupils, and there was a lot more information on that site than others I had found.
Albino cats:
[LINK]
[LINK]
Note that there is a difference between leucistic and albino animals. For example, an albino budgie will have red eyes, a leucistic budgie will have normal black eyes.

http://www.puginformation.org/albino-pugs-albinism-and-leucism-in-animals.html
"Leucism or Leukism is a very unusual condition whereby the pigmentation cells in an animal fail to develop properly. Unlike albinism, a leucistic animal is usually pure white with blue eyes, since there is a reduction of colour in all pigmentation of the animal, not just melanin"

I know it's a cruddy picture, but those aren't its eyelids.

I'm not trying to argue or anything, I am curious about the whole albino thing now. ;)

I looked into it a bit more.
Sometimes a albino dog can have blue eyes, but the pupils would have to be a dark red.

http://dogtime.com/definition/Albino

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albinism#In_other_animals
