MATURE CHAT
I personally am getting tired of "controversial" subjects booted out of Chat A/B because some people find them unsettling.
I am suggesting a Controversial chat so that we can talk about more "adult" themes without getting shushed. "Adult themes" does not mean sexual content [as that's kinda best hidden in the adult section of the forum] but things like taxidermy, roadkill, outdoor cats, unfixed animals, etc etc are all things that are NOT 18+/ADULT but keep getting shushed in Chat when nobody is getting out of control just because the younger players don't like talking about it. I can see it having the same type of rules as Chat A/B with no swearing and if it turns into an argument, it can be sent to the debate board.. but I just hate not being able to talk about things like the above because there are children around.
If someone doesn't like talking about gore or hunting, they are 100% free to go back to Chat A or B and leave the rest of us to talk about this kind of thing maturely.
I was thinking of an additional idea. Usually a mod comes in and says "drop the subject please, ___ doesn't like it" they could say "take it to 18+ chat" and we could continue our convos there :)

You have no idea how much I support this. I don't know how many times now I've been talking about very mildly mature topics and had it shut down mid conversation.

I support this. I enjoy talking about meaningful things, but its hard to do in the current alacrity chats because of 'little ears' and 'sensitive ears'. And if you think all touchy subjects devolve into arguments.. <br /><br />A few days ago, I and a few others were happily talking about a VERY touchy subject, and, while we didn't all agree, we respected each other's opinions, and it never once became an argument. :3 I would love to have more of such conversations on alacrity.

KaT, yeah I didn't mean for 18+ aged people only, I just meant to imply that there were mature/adult/controversial/sensitive subjects there like hunting

Support, maybe it will be like 18+ forums where it just brings up a popup "This chat may have mature themes, are you sure you wan to enter?"<br /><br /><br />Except, it shouldn't be 18+, I'm not quite 18 but I'm very mature for my age and I hate being butted out of a conversation that I can easily have input in but I can't just because of my age.<br /><br /><br />If some kid comes in then they can just be moved to chat A or B (:

User A comes in and talks to User B about how bad it is that people let their cats roam<br /><br />User C doesn't like this, complains and yells to get the subject stopped, because they don't like it.<br /><br /><b>Mature Chat</b><br /><br /><br /><br />
User A and User B are talking about how bad it is that people let their cats roam.<br /><br /><br /><br />
User C comes in, complains about how this upsets them and they want the convo ended.<br /><br /><br /><br />
User C's complaining is null and void because it is Mature Chat and they are free to go to either Chat A or Chat B if they are bothered by the cat-roaming conversation.<br /><br /><b>EDIT:</b> Actually, re-reading your post, you are correct. Just attach what I said above ^^^ and you've got it.<br />
Though re-thinking it, I think "my dad/spouse/mom/boyfriend abuses me" would probably be best for the forums as that stuff is kind of triggering.
What bothers me the most is when people get offended by such minor things. Or when they bring up a topic - typically personal - then request people stop talking about it. But, I won't elaborate and ramble on the two right now...<br /><br /><br />So, it would be a chat for, mainly, more mature <i>behavior</i>, then? Not to say we can't give a little joke or two, assuming it's an appropriate time and all. But where players understand that touchy subjects may be discussed, and no one is there to intentionally offend one another? Where there's a bit more freedom, in a way, so long as nothing clashes with Alacrity rules?
