Breed Support: The Saluki
Salukis are also known as Persian Greyhounds and Gazelle Hounds. They are built for speed, and in the past have been used for hunting gazelle, rabbits, foxes, and jackals.
There are two coat variations; one with a short, silky coat, and one with a long, feathery coat. They also have a bit of extra fur on their feet. They come in a variety of colors; white, cream, fawn, red, grizzle and tan, black and tan, and tricolored (tan, white, and black).
Personally; They are a beautiful, graceful breed. I believe that they could be a unique addition to Alacrity.
The saluki I am primarily suggesting is the long, feathery coat variation.
The Saluki isn't a very furry breed compared to the Borzoi; they have long fur on their ears, tail, and occasionally a bit of long fur on their legs, while the rest of their body is covered in shorter fur. The Saluki also has more straight fur, compared to the Borzoi's wavy fur. The Borzoi's nose is a bit more rounded than the Saluki's, as well. Though they are similar, I feel that these are still reasonable differences to continue suggesting this breed.
I ask that you please state whether you support or don't support, so I can add you to either list to keep track. Don't be afraid, we won't judge; I understand if you don't support the addition of this breed. ^-^
No support from me, sorry. I do like the breed and I'd be ok with them being here one day, but I'd like to see some other breeds first. They're just a little too close to borzois for me personally.

In my single attempt to try and get you to reconsider-<br /> Saluki aren't as fluffy as the borzoi. They do seem to have similar structure; both appear rather thin, though the borzoi's longer fur also appears to hide it better, while the saluki doesn't have as much long fur on their stomach. The borzoi also appears to have a more wavy fur, and the saluki seems to have a bit straighter fur. <br /> <br /> But, I quite understand if you continue to not support. If you don't support, would you mind if I start off the no support list with you, along with your reason why? :P No harm intended.

As much as I love the Saluki, I think it looks to much like the Borzoi. I would rather have breeds different from each other on here than similar.

Oh! I guess they <i>are</i> rather similar to borzois... Only without has much fur... Do you think they're <i>too</i> alike? I hope not... I don't think so... I'm not very fond of the borzoi breed art (no offense intended), so I'd rather not pretend that a borzoi is a saluki...<br /> <br /> Thinking about the possibility of coat length variations... I'm uncertain whether it'd even be worth the extra art. :p I think they would look a bit too much like greyhounds with their short haired coats... A few still notable differences between the two, but still a bit <i>too</i> similar to greyhounds... So, to keep the greyhound supporters happy, maybe no short-haired variation? Of course, it's all still just my opinion...<br /> <br /> I myself usually don't like the thin breeds, but the saluki is the exception. <br /> I love them so... <3

I'm personally not a huge fan...just because with how skinny they are they look like they're gonna fall over in a small gust of wind....remind of borzois which I don't like much either x]<br /> <br /> BUT I do support because their faces are so cute! <br /> <br /> Also, perhaps it would be like the pap except with long and short coats? I don't see too much of a difference between them besides the short wisps coming from their sides so it shouldn't be too much extra art ^^
